Short run before the weekend, focusing on good form. Felt very efficient.

1500 session tonight, wasn't meant to be speed really but coach suggested it and it makes sense with races in the weekend. A slower 800 'warm up' then 2*300, 3*200 4 min jog and repeat. Times were 2:48 then 47, 50, 30, 30, 29; 54, 53, 31, 30, 29. Aim had been 54 for 300s but felt it was too slow. Coach got me to slot in behind the other guys for the second lot of 300s but it felt too easy. Last 200 we decided to make an unofficial time trial between us, tried too hard and my form fell to pieces which was a little amusing. Pumped to race this weekend!

Shorter than normal, was conscious that my muscles would be a little rekt after 200s and 300s. Felt fairly comfortable doing exercises, the inevitable camp overload week next week is once again coming at just the right moment!

Felt really good today, suspect less sleep the last few days has been stuffing with my body, got a really decent amount last night which probably helped.

Tough long session in the heat but made some crucial step ups in areas I haven't made as much progress in recently. Feeling good now for the races next weekend.

Was going to have a jog around the new Riverhead map in the middle but unfortunately felt very light headed when I got to it - think I was dehydrated somehow. So decided to go for a walk on it instead, probably a good thing I did! Took me a little while to get into the mapping but really like the style which suits what the vegetation is like. The area is quite bland and vague, should be an interesting challenge to set courses on!

Hot day, 30 degrees still managed to find plenty of mud because this is Riverhead. Good session, really worked my way into it nicely. Felt a tad easy, too much downs possibly but the idea is for a slightly easier but more pacey? session as I'm racing in a week. 1 (1), 2 (1), 3 (2), 4 (2), 5 (2), 5 (2), 4(2), 3 (1:30), 2 (1), 1. Classic pyramid fartlek.
