Running (70mins + 6*45sec hills) 1:22:26 [2] 17.7 km (4:39 / km) +290m 4:18 / km
shoes: Vivo Barefoot Black

Joined the NW club run although gapped from the group to do my hill reps on north head and then because they were going at snail pace. Hill reps with walk downs inbetween, @ 5km pace.

Thursday Nov 30 #

Running (am) 30:14 [1] 6.7 km (4:31 / km) +115m 4:09 / km
shoes: Vivo Barefoot Black

Hottest run I've done since Hungary! Humid+direct heat made it an oppresive sweat-fest.. conditions I actually really enjoy.

Running (PM) 45:00 [1] 10.2 km (4:25 / km) +159m 4:06 / km
shoes: Saucony Type A6

Bit of breeze kicked up by the afternoon brought the temperature down to perfect conditions. The 3km along Oteha were pretty breezy though by the time I cruised back.

Note

No steeple this week because coach is down at secondary school nationals. Annoying but at least my legs will be less strained heading into u23 O camp.

Wednesday Nov 29 #

Running warm up/down (18u/13d) 31:29 [1] 6.1 km (5:10 / km) +113m 4:43 / km
shoes: Saucony Endorphin Racer

Pretty casual pace, with the pack

Running intervals (4*600m x2) 29:49 [4] 7.2 km (4:08 / km)
shoes: Saucony Endorphin Racer

1:52, 1:51, 1:50, 1:50 (3mins) 1:50, 1:51, 1:50, 1:49. 2min jogged rests. A little faster than 5km target pace but I felt comfortable through to no 6/7 then started to suffer a little. Paul was quite happy about how this session went (pleasantly suprised I think).

In other news, I have a really good internship offer for 6 weeks down in Wellington early next year. Also, have had course approvals for an exchange next year to Edinburgh University! Just need the exchange office to rubberstamp I'm not a criminal but looks like I will be spending September-December living in Scotland this time next year!

Tuesday Nov 28 #

shoes: Vivo Barefoot Black

Running (PM) 44:57 [1] 10.2 km (4:24 / km) +175m 4:04 / km
shoes: Saucony Type A6

Monday Nov 27 #

Spinning 1:00:02 [1]

Sunday Nov 26 #

Running long (North-west Riverhead) 1:44:26 [2] 21.4 km (4:53 / km) +468m 4:24 / km
shoes: Icebug Acceleritas4 (no3)

Cruised out to the north west end and back along some tracks I've never done. The forest up there is sooo nice now, even better than when we looked last year. The usable area for orienteering also seems bigger than I realised, there has got to be enough for 2 maps... maybe good for a return of TONIC in 2019?

Saturday Nov 25 #

Orienteering (Rimmer+whites whiteout) 58:47 [1] **** 10.1 km (5:49 / km) +44m 5:42 / km

Jog orienteering on the coast side of rimmer road, a loop on whites line and then back along the road. Whites line forest was sooo nice today, could have stayed for hours. Added drills and strides per the plan about halfway in.
