Running (Morning 30) 30:03 [2] 7.0 km (4:18 / km) +124m 3:57 / km
ahr:154 max:184 shoes: Vivo Barefoot Black

Starting a new program. Plan is to jiggle some sessions to maximise orienteering opportunities on the weekend and introduce more intensity. Starting with 100km roughly for the first few weeks, then looking at increasing maybe.

Bit blustery and felt like I needed to warm into this more. Ended on an interesting note when the police helicopter appeared started circling above me the last few km! It seemed to follow me home before turning back to where I had come from - wonder if they thought I was the perp!

Running (pm 40) 40:13 [2] 9.5 km (4:14 / km) +164m 3:54 / km
ahr:151 max:174 shoes: Vivo Barefoot Black

Felt a lot more comfortable on this one and my HR was down a bit more. Had a nasty mid term exam between them about road engineering of all things

Running (30 easy) 30:20 [2] 7.0 km (4:20 / km) +124m 3:59 / km
shoes: Vivo Barefoot Black

Feeling better today

Running (Steeple) 15:00 [1] 3.2 km (4:41 / km)
shoes: Vivo Barefoot Black

Stuggled a bit on the water jump mentally today for the first time. Was hurdling really nicely though, until I bailed twice on the last rep - still a bit of mental fatigue. This is an amazing way to measure recovery from my camp - curiously my body is fine but my the mental-physical part of my brain seems to lag more

Running warm up/down (up/down) 32:00 [1] 6.4 km (5:00 / km) +130m 4:32 / km
shoes: Vivo Barefoot Black

Running tempo (4km Threshold Test) 14:17 [4] 4.0 km (3:34 / km)
shoes: Vivo Barefoot Black

Started from 3:10 for the first 800m dropping 10s on the next 800m and so on down to 2:30. Unfortunately my HR monitor didn't work, felt quite comfortable though which is promising!

Road Cycle (Cross Training) 1:09:13 [2] 28.5 km (24.7 kph) +534m
ahr:139

Very breezy day for cycling, was getting knocked about a little on some of the ridges. Was a little apprehensive riding on some very wet roads, some extra power showing I think though.

My fitness is back solidly with my heart rate back down really low again on a still physical ride - still at a bit of a loss to explain what happened in January. My gut still tells me something bad happened to my airways but perhaps it was just a rapid loss of fitness? Glad to see I've battled through it successfully anyway.

Note

Gotten back on top of my AP log finally! As I slot back into regular training, hope to keep this well up to date

Orienteering race (Riverhead Rogaine - 2nd) 1:28:13 [4] ***** 12.8 km (6:54 / km) +300m 6:10 / km
shoes: Icebug Acceleritas4 (no3)

Run this at a low race pace, trying to be aggressive but failing. Probably needed a longer break after the camp, my mind wasn't quite there still I think. Showed with some shaky orienteering and less than aggressive running. Should have taken the win from Matt with a better route, but a big mistake on one control cost me the chance to get one 4mins away return from the start. Still happy to see some spillover of speed into green terrains I have done 0 training for.

Running long (Long Bay end and back) 1:25:15 [2] 17.9 km (4:46 / km) +414m 4:16 / km
shoes: Icebug Acceleritas4 (no3)

Popped to the end of long bay and back. Ended up running at night by the time I got round to this. Experimenting a little with a new training week, moving the long run to saturday so I can orienteer friday and sunday. Will be a bit tougher but I think getting used to back to back orienteering is something I need to train more. Not quite a long run because I had to get back!
