The 10 minutes of agony loop. No PR today but the downhill felt nicer on my feet. I guess I'm getting used to running on concrete.

The classic "10 minutes of agony" hill loop. My legs and ankles are legitimately starting to hurt after running on concrete all the time. Still waiting for all the dirt trails to dry up. Also, MIC Drop by BTS is officially one of my favorite downhill sprint songs...

Legs are still hurting from the weekend... Also, all of the non-concrete trails around here are super muddy, so I'm gonna have to run on concrete for the majority of my runs which probably won't help...

Orienteering race (Vazquez Rocks) 1:00:58 [5] ***** 7.06 km (8:38 / km) +285m 7:11 / km
19c shoes: Oroc X-Talon Shadow

Vazquez Rocks Red course. Really chilly today. I started off really shaky and navigated well but simply didn't see the controls even when I was virtually standing on top of them... Then at #13 when the navigation got really hard, I thought I was smart and attempted to climb down a very narrow ledge that I thought would lead me to the control. One misplaced footfall later and I ended up falling/sliding uncontrollably down about 15-20 feet of bare rock and miraculously didn't injure anything. Oh, and guess what? I made a parallel error and had to continue further to get to the control. Great! Then, when things began going smoothly again, I decided to just very roughly navigate to the last control, since there were countless trails on the map and in the terrain, and I couldn't slow down to read them. One hilariously stupid parallel error later, and 2 minutes later, I found myself running out of a thicket onto the finish chute. Oops. Ran back to #19 and grumpily finished. For Vazquez Rocks, this race was relatively clean, but those few minutes of mistakes lost me first place...
