@Sunol picking up all the controls that I didn't get on the 4 hour race two weeks ago. These were literally all over the place, so the route looked... interesting.....

https://photos.app.goo.gl/H9vtj7fq4ZzzMkKh7Took it pretty easy since it's mainly just a training, not a race. Freaked out a bunch of hikers around 21 cause I did a loop-de-loop around the out of bounds and then doubled back. Also ran into a nice smelly cow skeleton @30 (see Strava). The uphill slog to 54 sucked, but I bypassed the trail through the dark green and passed under 46 and close to Matej's old Start location so that I wouldn't lose climb. It was hella tempting to send it down the crazy spur west of 60 for the long leg route choice, but my sanity ended up winning and I took the far north trail, turning ABBA's Best Hits on my phone's speaker so I'd have some fun for the two mile trail run. The Flag Hill (that's the name of the western hill/ridge) loop was a little cray cray, but I took it nice and easy (and kept bumping ABBA; these Sunol cows have now been exposed to the *classics*). Literally stumbled onto 86 because I completely lost focus, and after bobbling 88 a pinch due to sketchy rock mapping (can we just remark on the cliff that is that ridgeline?) I spiked the rest of the controls and got back a few minutes later than I had aimed for. Ah well; I was taking it easy and actually tried to have *fun* instead of just bowling through the forest...
dat climb tho
