Progression (Progression run) 1:00:00 [4] 10.8 mi (10.8 mph)

Progression run - Treadmill

Started off easy to warm up the Achilles and built up after a few miles

Started off at 15.5kph and went for the last 5 mins at 19.7 kph

Achilles / calf felt great beat its felt for along time, I have been lots and lots of self massage and stretching, no discomfort at all, a massive relief to me and it has been messing with my confidence and my will to continue running.

Pace felt good at all times and was surprised how well I felt at 19.7 kph as I find it harder to run faster on treadmill that on road / track etc

Moderate running (Moderate running ) 53:10 [3] 9.0 mi (5:54 / mi)

Moderate run

Opted for the treadmill this morning due to heavy frost, I started off the run on the roads but was very frosty and Icy and was slipping backwards on every foot strike, so jogged to the leisure centre.

Must admit my Achilles feels much better / easier on a treadmill, probably due to reduce impact. Felt very comfortable with this pace and relaxed, Achilles was fine no real discomfort just felt stiff.

Walked back from gym as it was really slippery and trying to help Achilles recover.

Easy running (Easy running ) 37:33 [3] 5.54 mi (6:47 / mi)

Easy running

Beehive, middlebrook back roads, motorway bridge, A6, crown lane and Mason street and home.

Took it very easy, still feeling the Achilles stiff front the offset, warmed up and felt slightly better after a mile
It so, doesn't like any inclines can feel slight discomfort, had to change the route so to cut out a gradual climb and ran slightly less. Slowly getting better and swelling is reduced, keeping on top of massage and icing.
9 AM

Easy running (Easy running ) 46:41 [3] 7.0 mi (6:40 / mi)

Easy running

Morning short winterloop

Beehive, middlebrook back road, A6, crown lane, crown, Chorley new road to Victoria road and home.

Achilles / calf felt better today, still stiff and some slight discomfort running up the hill at crown lane, but much better.

Saw Physhio yesterday and she indicated my calf are very tight and showed me the best way to do calf raises I may have cause the bad calf / Achilles by doing a set of calf raises fast. With the calf being slow twitch muscles I have arrgravated it and slightly strained my Achilles, nothing major slight swelling .

Cool down (Easy cool down ) 7:15 [3] 1.0 mi (7:15 / mi)

Easy cools down down through Horwich Chorley new rod and home.

Calf felt ok but any slight incline and could feel slight discomfort.

Seeing Physhio tomorrow.
8 AM

Easy running (Easy running ) 7:10 [3] 1.0 mi (7:10 / mi)

One mile ru to the leisure centre via Horwich town centre

Crosstraining warm up Achilles / calf very stiff

Running (Short progression treadmi) 34:45 [4] 6.1 mi (5:42 / mi)

Bump d in to my Physhio and Stu stokes in gym and was telling my described my issue. Both of them agreed straight away it's my soleus muscle being tight and she massage my calf right in between the muscle and she said it's very tight and has impacting slightly on my Achilles slight strain.

I went on the treadmill as there is less impact just to rest and if I had pain I would stop. I decided to run 10k as a progression from 16.4 - 19kph for the last 1k! 20 mins at 18.4 kph The calf felt tight at the start but get on once I got going, felt good other than the tightness.

Get strong in myself and I think the treadmill reduces he impact of the road etc.

Gutted to miss the race but I know that racing would have made it far worse.

Moderate running (Moderate running ) 58:36 [3] 10.0 mi (5:52 / mi)

Moderate morning Christmas Day run

Standard winter long loop

Beehive, back road of middlebrook, A6 through westhoughton, chew moor lane, past train station, up the hill in Beaumont road, along Chorley new road and home.

Achilles felt stiff but alright when I got going legs felt super strong today best they have felt for a long time.

Got some discomfort in he calf / Achilles on mile 7 running up hill so eased off and ran easy but that past and felt ok again.

Felt still when I have finished with some slight discomfort but eased when I had stretched and iced it. Will continue to ice, heat and stretch today.
