run: hills 1:04:04 [3] 11.97 km (5:21 / km)
slept:7.0

activation, 15min wu from hangar to john/high st, LU active wu
2x(4x john st hill, from high to hill, jog down rec), 3min set rest
last hill - up high to whitney to summit, stop @ cornwall
15:45 cd back to hangar

this was okay. footing was decently slippery. was trying to keep the steps as short as possible, really didn't want to try to force anything so that my feet wouldn't be trying too hard to grip at the ground. so it felt like i was holding back a bit, but the last 2 short hills were very difficult regardless. times were ~69-70 for the first 5, NT for #6, and last 2 were like 77 haha. the last hill was ~450m and i got up in about 2min, the snow wasn't cleared at all once you turned off high haha so it was pretty sludgey, and got quite a bit steeper after that turn. overall i'm satisfied with this session, in retrospect i think i still would have chosen this over the proposed specific longer run despite the slippery conditions.

run: rec 43:37 [1] 8.64 km (5:03 / km)
slept:8.0

footing was decent, it was colder so the snow was all cleared or packed. foot was the same.

Thursday Dec 29, 2016 #

run: rec 35:30 [1] 7.15 km (4:58 / km)
slept:6.0

went to the complex for 35min on the dread and then hopped into the pool with hess for 50min DWR. my butt is pretty sore and my whole body felt heavy from yesterday's workout. the foot is pretty good today, tiny bit sore to touch but not bad at all.

pool (DWR) 50:00 [1] 5.0 km (10:00 / km)

Note

Went to see an old friend for some pro bono physio, he said he could do some ART but instead he just did that thing PTs do where they assess you and tell you to stretch more LOL. But he seems think my foot is fine and gave me a new stretch he thinks will make it better, so that's good!

run: track (brazilians + 300's) 54:20 [3] 12.55 km (4:20 / km)
slept:7.75

activation, wu loop (~18:26), campus tempo loop @ tempo (~2.4km, 9:43), active wu
test 200 (36.0)
4 extra 50m strides in flats
Brazilian (6 strength exercises superset w/ 5x200), 1min rec
15sec running A's, 1:30 rec
Brazilian
8min set rest
2x(3x300@ 1500rp, 90s rest), 4min set rest
13:40 cd on grass inside, some push+sit and glute strength

2:56, 2:59
52.8, 53.8, 54.6
54.1, 54.1, 53.4

this was pretty solid. there was a good amt of snow on the ground and it was still snowing so i think the bit of tempo at the beginning was as good as it was going to get. brazilians were decent, first time doing them in a long time! the first one actually felt very easy and i was just trying to average 35's as i didn't want to do anything faster than that today. second set got much more challenging after the halfway mark, the lack of full recovery between sets was getting to me. decided to finish off with some 300's instead of doing a 3rd brazilian. 1st rep was a bit quick but otherwise they were good and relaxed and in control. today the foot had actually felt markedly improved before workout, and didn't have any pain during, but was a bit sore afterward.
