shit, so going into this i didn't really know what my game plan SHOULD be but i knew i was going to be first off the line so i decided to control the race. i decided to stay relaxed because i thought that if it came down to a gear change i could beat nicole. turns out i was a little TOO relaxed hahahah, went through in 33-66-1:39. so i negative split a pb. nicole went around heading into bell lap and i let her, and was going to stick close to her and let her do the work for a bit and go around in the home straight. when we were in the home straight she went wide and i had a clear lane on her inside, so i was going to hold my line on the inside, and then she cut back inside and by the time i made my way to her outside the race was over. so it was my own fault because i had control over the race the whole time and shouldn't have left it down to the wire, and maybe i should have just swung wide out of that last corner but then maybe she would have kept drifting out wider if she knew i was there so who knows what would have happened if i had done things differently. also fair to note that she was moving around a lot and probably ran a much farther last stretch than i did and still won haha. i felt like my only other option was to try to blow out the first couple laps and see if she'd hang on but i really felt like i had a better chance with a kick. anyway, can't complain, at the end of the day i nabbed a pb on a negative split and some cash to boot. looking forward to outdoor.
