run: race (FFO 800) 34:00 [5] 7.49 km (4:32 / km)

activation, 19min wu, dynamic wu, strides in spikes
FFO 800 - 2:10.76 (sb), 1st
~13min cd

this was blah. my legs were feeling pretty trashed. training/running hasn't been that hard lately, it must be all the driving as well as jumping back into 8 hour days on my feet. not the worst thing in the world, but always takes some adjusting when first starting out (my rotations this winter were *technically* full time but were much easier than what i'm doing now).

race itself was meh, i knew i'd probably end up leading wire-to-wire. i saw 65s on the clock before i hit the 400 split, which was surprising because i was pretty confident it wasn't that slow; turns out others are insisting the clock was slow so maybe my pacing instincts aren't as off as i thought they were haha. i definitely had a fleeting desire to drop out, thinking i probably couldn't dip under 2:10 if that first lap was so slow; i decided to keep going only because i figured i need to get the race effort in. felt super flat and unresponsive the whole way through. was honestly surprised to see another 2:10. disappointed that it wasn't a pb, i figure i'll need a 2:09 or under to get into the fast Q heat at nats. time to obsess over entries until the deadline HAHA. trying to put a plan into motion to ensure i'll be fresher heading into ottawa, there's some kind of time in there i just need to get into a good RAAACE

run: rec (shake out) 21:02 [1] 2.66 mi (7:54 / mi)

drove straight from work back to yeg. got into town some time between 8:30-9pm, kicked up my feet and lied around for a while, did a bit of stretching, then finally decided to shake out my legs before we ran out of daylight haha. legs were feeling super shitty.

Wednesday Jun 20, 2018 #

run: track 50:14 [3] 7.19 mi (6:59 / mi)

activation, 21min wu, dynamic wu, 3x50m in spikes
5x200 @ FFF in spikes
some SS, was supposed to be 4min SS, 1min jog, 4min of 30/30.. my watch split somewhere halfway through but it wasn't much longer than 9min
200, 300, 200 @ 800 effort (spikes)
15min cd

33.9, 33.7, 33.6, 33.5, 33.3
31.4, 46.7, 32.2

this was ok, wasn't feeling awesome but the times were faster than they felt haha so I think that's good? this week is my first stretch of working full time on my feet in a long time so it'll probably take about another week before I feel normal again. had no plan heading into this, was just feeling it out.
