Note

Walked about 4 miles through the city of Atlanta. Not much exercise, but better than nothing. Need to create a plan for workouts for when I go on trip section to make sure that I maintain good habits while traveling.

Note

Spent the day talking with high schoolers about the importance of ethics and leadership. It was a good mental workout, but no physical exertion unfortunately.

Running (APFT) 16:00 [3] 2.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Today was my APFT.

I knocked out 69 pushups. Very disappointing because that is only 2 pushups away from a max. Definitely should have gotten more sleep the night before. Odd how the big assignments are always due on the day of APFT's. But, I will max push ups next time.

Sit ups: 95. I felt really good for sit ups. I was trying to hit triple digits but just fell short.

Run: 12:04. While this is an ok time, I still feel that I could have pushed harder. Unfortunately, I had no one to run with. I suspect that I could have knocked about 30 seconds off total if I had someone to race with. In the future, I hope to drop my run time down to about 11:30 for the next APFT.

Note

Today was another day of recovery. Still some lingering soreness and overall body stiffness.
There were some push-ups, but not many

I also rested today in preparation for my APFT tomorrow.

Rucking 9:00:00 [3] 20.0 mi (27:00 / mi)

Day 2 of Stockville
Covered about 20 miles. Not as much climb as Day 1, but there was still some serious elevation changes between points.

In terms of navigation, we were really thrown off by the change in scale. Maps alternated between 1:30,000 all the way to 1:40000. Definitely required us to focus on the major features. We relied heavily on linear features (ridgelines and trails) in order to get to our point.
