SOL 3- Foot very sore today so couldn’t really push the pace but in the end was a blessing in disguise. Apart from the odd hesitation and a rather large banana at 4 and 13 was clean with the nav.

Great way to end the week.

Sprint- Set off with hope of pinging it round. Made some heavy mistakes in the beginning and got frustrated so cruised the rest of the first half then called it a day.

British Nights- MP - Silly me no idea how to position the head torch so kept blinding myself with the map at the start. Ran off in the complete wrong direction to 1 then saw Fred heading out of the control site. He taught me the ways of the torch and we cruised onwards. Different route choice to 8 and I missed it and had no mental drive to look for it so went to 10. Found fred again at 11 and took it easy to the finish.

Middle- Atrocious from the get go. Bad to 1 and 2 but stable through the first rocky section. Then was getting shadowed and being asked about what my plan was going to be on the go and it threw me off loads. Everything went out the window and was terrible for the rest, getting lost left right and centre. Frustrated at the end but it’s only training!

Sprint- Some real dodgy routes and bananas were taken but actually had the speed today. Got trapped at no. 1 hard so lost pretty much all my time there.

Relay- Started in 2nd pack as was setting off in waves to simulate a bit of cat & mouse . Caught the group in front (Fred and AliT) when they made a mistake late on and pushed to get ahead. A small hesitation allowed Ali to catch up again and we bombed it to the finish together.

Long training- Kept it easy and bashed out 3/4 with Ali making some dodgy mistakes.

Orienteering 42:50 [3] 5.56 km (7:42 / km) +98m 7:05 / km

Middle training- Lost around 3 or 4 minutes at no. 3 running over the control site (mini kites) to the top of the hill faffing about. Quite embarrassing as was being shadowed. Another minutes mistake to no. 5 and some lovely bananas towards the end. Legs getting very heavy so lowered the pace.
