ride from newmarket out through onehunga to manukau, around airport then redoubt road and back onto the saturday am loop and out thru remuera. knees on and off good and bad, very tight and bandy itb afterwards. good to be out on the road bike for a decent session again.

ride from home to work. my knees suck. id be keen for a swap. they hardened up towards the end but just so annoying, and the exercises for it seem so pointless, i do notice when i dont do them though.

mtb from hoem to riverhead and checking out mtb track for race on the weekend. pretty mint realy, nice and dry. legs feeling good, though knees feel unstable if that makes sense. had physio today and going to stop the regular treatment, if it get s bad again im going to go back

got up at 5.30 and went for a ride in the redwoods from brents house. long mile, a trail, gunna gotta, a trail, tickler, b rude not 2, pig track, exit, rat, long mile. really cold when started. i love rotorua and i am very jealous of where brent lives. felt good to ride the trails fast, mapboard holder was anoying though

jamies crash course.
ride, trek, ride, trek. was prety good fun. had scenarios of problems that each team member had to go through which slowed us down a bit, also i wasnt on nav which slowed us down a little as well. knees and shins held up well. was really sleep tired from the last week in which i have had hardly any sleep. had heaps of fun, vegas was dry and hot and awesome to be out racing in. team worked well together

went for an mtb by myself after the ar to ride a track we had run down. called split enz, 10 minutes of rolling down with sweeping benched corners, berms, switchbacks. minta, my new fav track in rotorua

mtbo training with team vasque. tried to get most of the controls. had to shortcut out near the end because of time constraints. was good, at the end got going fast to try and get back in time. pretty cruisy pace for me, good fun though, made sure i made no nav errors. only 30sec on a clearing

kayak at crash course with the team. me in the back of the hypernova with seamus. nav was good after number 1 when i got used to the scale was sweet. feeling heaps better in the boat now, using my core muscles much more than just my arms.

mtb at whitford. first bit was with martin and andrew. did bread run plus out to the road then back up odins. after had a little play in the front block while we waited for rosie. then after rosie got there me rosie and andrew went and did the gravel roads out the back. was dark and good fun.

mtb from muriwai after tutoring mitch. went and did a loop up pulpit rock and around on the flat. legs have mad doms from sunday, ride helped heaps though. Was a slack bastard today and didnt spend the time doing all the physio stuff, just did a quick abridged version, i blame my disorganisation for the orienteering im organising tomorow.

reso happy with how i did considering preparation. 1st off the run, stoked with that, 2nd overall off the road bike happy with that. bonked solidly on the mtb, not happy with that. and kayak was better than last year. Cramped from before helensville, so had 2 hours of cramping legs, yay. paid for having not done enough miles. on the positive side i was feeling mint in the run. just took some nuerofen plus for my knees, werent too bad, but that was probably the drugs.

second part of team vasque training. Did a course in waiuku forest on a topo. Ross set the course, map was super dodge with roads not existing. also he had the first circle in the wrong place. all good, good training not too hard so not tiring me out for tomorow

first part of team vasque training, went for a paddle on the waikato from the reserve in the forest. first me and seamus in the hypernova then swapped with rosie and went in the back of the duet with and andrew. really good to sit behind seamus and copy his style. did some cool drills which helped, pause before hook, spearing fish and focus on when we were exiting the water. found it much easier to keep my arms straight this time. really enjoyed this paddle. the duet has a shit seat, will have to figure something out. maybe if i get a bigger booty it will fit better. hmm

cruisy run at western springs twice round the course that ive set up for marist on monday tuesday. shins feeling reso good, not very tender which is good. knees a bit sus.
pissing me off so much, saw people riding beside the motorway on the way home and so wanted to be riding. physio is optimistic, reckons it getting better, i will kinda believe that. haha

prep for rcc has been pretty much shitest ever. not expecting anything. might go out hard and try adn get a draft of a fast guy in the cycle then see what the legs can do in the mtb.

collecting controls from the p6 today. got pretty much all of the controls and put them at a couple of dumps for shaun to get in the 4x4. controls were yellow/orange and pretty easy but got the mind thinking o. legs felt a bit tired running, but not too bad

from riverhead bridge, 2 laps up to the waterfall and back. good for getting used to the total eclipse. got really relaxed in it by the end. arms feeling better today, focused on geting arms high and reaching forward. itd got abused by the physio again today. Any advice anyone? any stretches for the itb and tensor facia latae?

pretty cruisy mtb ride with andrew up at woodhill. looking after my itb so wasnt too fast. ended up riding with lights for the last half hour. still feeling a bit tired

Event: U23 AR Trials
 
adventure racing 16:00:00 [2]
ar trial down in turangi.
ride from turangi out to tongariro forest, then mission on bikes then a short rogaine then some caves then ride up to whakapapa and then rogaine at whakapapa, wrapped it up at 4am.
riding was all cruisy which was good cos my itb went to shit on the first ride. did the navigating for my team and really only stuffed up once we got up to the rogaine at night on the mountain where i got ridiculously confused. by the end the old itb was sore even running.
awesome weekend, heaps of fun missioning around and i made the team to so stoked
