1st under 19 men
So happy with my ride. Attacked off the start and by the top of the first climb only ash was with me. He stayed on for the first 1 nd a half laps. Attacked through one of the long rooty sections and got a gap. Pulled the gap out to 4 minutes by the end. jono got 3rd 2 minutes down on ash. had a good as ride, legs felt awesome, didnt really even need the coke on the last lap. climbing at a good tempo and didnt cramp at all. Lapping well within the top ten in pro elite an dthey only had one extra lap.

Rode 2 laps with jono out at riverhead for the race tomorow. pretty cruisy pace did 2 accelerations on the 2nd lap. legs feeling good. course was dusty as.

rode from home to the forest to meet jordan to do a practise lap. legs feeling real fresh, surprising after last night.

rode a lap and a half with jordan and ash. it was stop start to check lines but quite a fast tempo when we were riding. course is so dry and dusty

Rode from newmarket to mission bay then back to tank farm. didi warm up for the crit then rode back to newmarket after the crit. legs feeling ok. not great

got axed tonight. felt shit at the start so was sitting near the back. then the bunch split and i got stuck in the back group. couldnt ride up so just spent ages trying to get back up. legs feeling pretty average. really bad headwind down the front straight

Rode from home out to riverhead to do a lap of the xc course. legs feeling good, climbing well and none of the fatigue of last week. HR going up as normal. not sure what was up last week, maybe waitangi?

Started taking my RHR this morning, have been meaning to for ages. hopefully i remeber everyday

rode at riverhead in the arvo with sadies group. she got me to do 2 laps of the xc course with some of the faster ones. still pretty cruisy. opened it up on a sections to try out some lines at pace. course is so dusty, not quite sure about types, rancheros are good but maybe a bit too slippy. will try different stuff on friday. legs feeling good right through.

Rode home from work via dominion road, blockhouse bay titirangi, scenic drive, bethels, soljans and sh16.
Legs feeling like ther still gt a bit of lactic in them, but HR getting up much easier. overall feeling much better than last week. didnt really hit it with any hard efforts, just tempo climbing at a high cadence and a bit of tempo on the flats. legs felt great at the end, still a bit lacticy but had heapsa power

Monday Feb 12

easy recovery run from home down to the pines at waikoukou valley estate. then home up the hill. legs felt alright.
