mountain bike race (AK mtb champs rd 2) 1:37:46 [5]

1st open men

pretty mint race, rode to my plan of attacking the others before the first singletrack then trying to open up a gap. worked perfectly, pulled like 4mins on the first lap and a little more on the second. cramped a bit on the last lap but that is down to having done no speed work. pretty stoked to win. leigh was 2nd then brad tilby with jacob the dane in 4th.

warm up for 25 mins, warm down for 15. legs felt average in warm up, but came right in the race

taping the course for the race tomorrow, so very stop start. legs feeling pretty good

rode home from rob and marquitas after setting the tape up. legs feeling pretty good. ripped it up helensville hill, pushed it to get the legs going over before tomorrow, hopefully they will b a ok.

2nd in m21. 10sec behind bryn and 2sec ahead of darren. pretty good run, dropped some time 17-18 through hestitation that i shouldnt have, plus was pretty loose from 9 - 15. felt the slowness in my legs, couldnt open up properly in the easy bits. pretty happy, and shins good

run on parts of courses from akl champs. feeling pretty good, ankle much better, still a wee bit dodge though. made sure i didnt let myself leave a still unless i was sure id nailed it and retrace and repeat if i stuffed up. was oing reso good. shins are profoundly better, maybe the neurolink stuff does work?

mtb with leigh at rob and marquitas. did two laps of the course for sunday. legs felt pretty flat on the first lap, but heaps better on the second. guna be a mint race on sunday if my legs decide to show up.

cruisy run just up into the forest, mainly just getting the legs going again after physio stuff on shins. feeling pretty good.
