Rockclimbing 2:00:00 [3]

Climbing at Bonnet Bay with Steffi and Maria. Amazing!

Warmed up leading Mowgli (18).

Followed by Kim (21) which I had to rest on because I pumped out trying to find solid feet for the 3rd clip.

Jumped straight back on Kim(21) to send it clean.

Went and had a top rope play on Lean Beef (24) which is basically just like 6 dynos stitched together. Got the first 3 dynos before falling on the 4th (didn't give it enough oomph) which was followed by a swing so I couldn't get back to the route. Definitely one to come back for. Lots of fun.

Lead Stopping Short (18) because the girls were on it. Fun but awkward.

Went back round to the main wall to climb Bruised and Scratched (20), a crack that turns off width about a third of the way up. Got to the 6th bolt and through the roof before getting stuck and having to rest before finally clipping the lower off. Was pretty fun but also completely wrecked me. Need to work on crack, it seems to make me panic and over exert myself. Got some solid foot as well as crotch jams.

Running 25:14 [3] 5.9 km (4:17 / km)

Tempo run down to Queens park to keep my legs working. Pretty wrecked after climbing all day. Started off slow and then pushed through the tiredness to finish strong. Feeling good but also feeling yesterdays run just a tad in the legs.

Running 10:13 [3] 1.4 km (7:18 / km)

Cool down run.

Running 1:23:33 [3] 15.9 km (5:15 / km)

Longish run with big boulder hopping, and beach sections (probably about half). Trying my best to emulate running off tracks in a rocky area (it's the best I can do living in the eastern suburbs. Pushed hard in the off road sections too and felt like I was limited by coordination and foot placement rather than fitness. A good thing in someways but also makes me with I had more chances to run offroad (where there aren't slippery patches and barnacles).

Everything was feeling good and had plenty of juice left at the end. Looking forward to next weekend.

Running 6:37 [3] 0.8 km (8:16 / km)

Warmdown

Running 49:06 [3] 9.2 km (5:20 / km)

Track session with the squad

Warm up, drills, runthroughs as usual.

Rolling 800s - i.e. 800s with varying amounts of easy and hard.
400easy/400hard, 500easy/300hard, 300easy/500hard, 400easy/400hard, 300easy/500hard, 800hard.

Warm down and stretches.

Felt good. Pushed pretty hard in all the sets, probably would have liked to do more distance at the hard pace.

Rockclimbing 2:00:00 [3]

St Peters session with Alastair. Lots of lead and plenty of solid climbing. Probably sent about 7 climbs highest grade 21 (maybe 22?) but all on lead.

Need to do more strength training e.g. crunches, leg lifts, pushups, chinups.

NOTE: Didn't do the track session tonight because my calf was still sore from touch the day before.

Touch Rugby 1:00:00 [3] 7.5 km (8:00 / km)

Really tough game, lost 2 tries to 3. I got 1 and disappointingly got chased down on another. Played another team of ex collegians. They pushed us really hard getting up really quick in both attack and defense. Our team responded well though with solid defense and enough attack opportunities to get us close. Pretty tired afterwards.

Warm up and warm down jog to and from the field as usual.

NOTE: Really sore left calf after the game. Either from the stack I had while running for the line after the first breakaway, or the dive attempt shortly after. Going to have to be careful with it.

Running 44:55 [3] 8.3 km (5:25 / km)

Easy run to the Coogee death stairs.

5 Laps of death stairs (approx 200m climb)

Fairly good pace home with another 80m or so climb.

NOTE: Knees felt a bit sore at the start but fine once warmed up.
