BELLINGHAM STREET SCRAMBLE

Bellingham is awesome. This was definitely a favorite street scramble venue for me. I was glad for the reason to run; I ran slowly but I was glad I could still cover the distance. I want to make more of a weekend out of this one next time. There's the opportunity to camp at Larrabee State Park, which I think would have been fun to do. Next time!

I somehow got first place overall for the 3 hour (bike and foot, men and women), edging out Ing and Nina. There was an all-star ultrarunner team, but for some reason they cut it short and only did 90mins.

BIG NEWS - I got a class !

Sunday evenings at Compfit in Wallingford.

Kind of a trial run for both me and the time slot.

Starting in 2 weeks! (Edit: Dec 3.) Guess what I'll be spending all of my free time on. (Sounds like a long time? Well, it took me 4 months to prep for my certification class! So... cramming. It's hard for me, alright! They all say it gets easier.)

My full vision is to lead two classes a week - Compfit Sunday nights, and a weeknight (Mon or Thurs) right where I live. I'm thinking of moving and I've got my eye on a dance and fitness studio by there. I've talked to the studio owner and she seems receptive...

They say it's easier to teach two classes a week than one. We'll see; for now let's just see if I survive getting one class started! I'm glad for the opportunity

OULA 1:00:00 [3]

Not OULA, Hip Hop Dance at the Y.
Led one song, Painkiller. Went fine. It's a very different setting (gym, bright lights, facing participants) compared to more of a dance studio (mirrored room, lower light / more ambiance).
I was reminded that going to this hip hop class in this gym at the Y a year ago was what helped me enjoy dance fitness without the distraction of the mirror. I was so weirded out by "mirror fitness," coming from endurance sports. I'd say I'm pretty well over that now. Glad for this Hop Hop class. I only have a few more visits before my free pass is up.

OULA choreography 2:00:00 [1]

Painkiller (feat. Meghan Trainor) - Justin Derulo 3:24

Spent way too much time on this (was more like 2.5hrs?)
Relatively simple choreo, trying a different way to document it.
Still need more time on it.

This one's for Fri hip hop class, going to lead it. Picked a new-to-me song bc the ones I know don't seem like a good fit for this class

Coconuts (feat. J.Lauryn)- Triarchy 3:31

I might be hitting OULA choreo pretty hard this week to get close to having a class-worth of material at the ready. Fingers crossed that Fri I may be one step closer to leading a class on the regular.
