Orienteering (you yangs) 1:20:00 [4] *****
shoes: VJ twisters

Putting out the first half of the site tapes for the upcoming state league.
Very intense in this section= green to dark green, lots of granite, no contour features.
some nice checkpoints though. SPLENDID views at some of the drink controls.

Orienteering (you yangs) 2:35:00 [3] ****
shoes: VJ twisters

the second half of the controls (after lunch).
largely a slog through the flat open gum plantation areas; moving on to INTENSE sandmining. almost died. to much erosion. one long uphill haul. this will not be good to carry the drinks control upto. does provide SPECTACULAR views though.
last section of the controls felt like african savannah; kept looking out for leopards in the branches. could have been due to dehydration.
good thing I don't have to run these courses.
