Well, I'll start with the positives. I had a great start, it was the best and most relaxed yet confident on a start line I have felt for a long time, if not ever. I'm usually nervous and worrying but this time I felt great so I'm going to focus on that and see it as a major step forward. The terrain at the start of the race also suited me - road and then runnable tracks. Then it just got difficult with heather and gorse so running was difficult and my nav let me down as I got called by those in front and behind so I ended up on the wrong side of this gully and lost a load of time. Really disappointing as I felt like I was running ok up to then. I need to practice steep runnable to non runnable climbs, so I'm going to incorporate that into some runs to get better. Descending was Ok, again need to improve. There was more descending then I thought and actually very few sections of the climbs were really runnable apart from the last part. All in all disappointing but getting there.

One of those runs that was easy but never going to be fast.i wanted to try out my hokas again on grassy terrain so ran a low level trail route but there a load of stiles to cross from one field to the next. Nice run though, up on trails above home. Ft decent, a bit of tiredness in legs but generally fine.

Moderate run on the roads. Felt good, I did feel a bit sick to start with which was annoying as I love these moderate runs. Feel fine now though. Ran well overall, quite a few hilly sections so overall split time was slower, but on the flat easily under 4.30 pace.

Really pleased with this session, best I have felt on hill reps, couple of key points were I felt good at the start of each rep, my form was good throughout, I went for it on the reps and my leg speed is improving on them, its also easy to get complacent when it's harder going and I was much stronger at the end of each rep, last 200m was solid. Rep times were faster than last week, last two a bit slower but I ran the full 3rd rep (only 600m last week) so 5 x 800m with 140m of climbing were 6.51, 6.49, 7.07, 7.17 and 7.18. Hot again, 23-25degrees but coped well in it.

A bit slow to start but picked up ok, and generally felt quite good. Meant to do strideouts but only now realised I forgot to do them. Route was undulating trails with some road. Very warm again, tired all day but perked up during cycle and feel better now.

Wrist feeling better so opted for a nice cycle outdoors on the roads. Enjoyed it and cycled quite well, definitely more confident in the bike up and down, also a lot fitter on the bike, can push a harder gear uphill now with ease. Went out feeling tired, came back feeling great!

Easy running on trails near home. Felt better then I thought I would and right ankle which is always sore after racing has been fine. Tired today, think I rather crashed after yesterday's race - tired from racing and the heat. But physically felt good when running and moving quite well.
