Hill running 1:38:54 [3] 18.35 km (5:23 / km) +860m 4:22 / km

Pre breakfast run on the course for the half marathon, cut off the last part as it was long enough. Slightly tired on the climbs but that's okay.

Running, mostly off road warm up/down 16:00 [2] 3.0 km (5:20 / km) +80m 4:42 / km

Warm up on the first bit of the course. Early start and luckily the rain just went off an hour before.

Hill running race 1:56:57 [5] 16.5 km (7:05 / km) +2130m 4:18 / km

Zugspitze uphill from Ehrwald. Good course but nobody to push me so I enjoyed it and tried to work hard on the climbs, mostly feeling good. There were some slippery muddy sections in the first half and on the short downhill after it rained so had to go pretty slow in my shoes without grip. On the flat rocky part it was also quite slippery but could still keep a good effort going. The climb to the Sonnenalpin was really enjoyable and the clouds were clearing at that point. That final section is hard going and there isn't any way of feeling like you can move forward at any rate but luckily I was far enough ahead by then. Was an enjoyable day and a good workout. According to Andrew Syme it's the same course as the old Zugspitze race which wasn't won in under 2 hours apparently.

Running, mostly off road 36:01 [2] 7.26 km (4:58 / km) +210m 4:20 / km

Easy run to stretch off the legs in the sunshine. Worked well as by the end I felt good again.

Hill running 1:32:05 [3] 17.44 km (5:17 / km) +710m 4:23 / km

Hilly run over and around the Kranzberg. Slept in by an hour and was late starting after doing exercises so it was all pre breakfast. Glad of the extra sleep seeing how early I have to wake tomorrow! Awesome morning with no clouds and fairly good legs. Calf feeling fine all the way.

Easy run on the trails, fairly flat compared to recent weeks. No problems from the calf but I didn't push it. Happy with the progress since last week.

Hill running warm up/down 59:42 [3] 10.1 km (5:55 / km) +590m 4:34 / km

Bit of flat running before the session then the rest of the climb and undulating trails at the top.

Hill running 36:00 [5] 4.31 km (8:21 / km) +900m 4:05 / km

8 x 3' (90s easy) uphill from Innsbruck towards the Seegrube. The first few weren't too bad then the middle ones super steep (1km 30%) then it eased off slightly. Pushed pretty hard and enjoyed the session. Quite hot and humid.

Easy run from Scharnitz to Mittenwald on the trails. Legs not too bad, calf held up fine too. Scorching hot!

Hill running 1:51:39 [3] 17.3 km (6:27 / km) +1900m 4:10 / km

3km on the trails then the Karwendel climb on the single trail, slightly less direct and with a downhill/flat section part way. Ran the loop at the summit then got the lift down and did 5km undulating at a reasonable effort, pain free. Definitely feels better running flat after climbing. Hot weather all the way so good prep.

Easy run on the trails, starting with a small climb then doing the 10km loop. Legs fine after the weekend, calf not too bad either. It didn't get to the point of being sore which was good. Hot day.
