Just as bad today but the exercises do help slightly. More blocks of indoor cycling.

Some harder efforts mixed in. Intervals on a turbo trainer make the time pass much quicker.

Able to walk for a few minutes at a time after treatment yesterday afternoon and exercises but it’s not great. Cycling still fine.

Lower back and across to SI joint and left hip very painful when attempting to walk. Saw the physio who reckons it will loosen off over a few days with some exercises. Seems quite optimistic considering how painful and debilitating it is. Able to do some indoor cycling split in to short blocks of 20minutes and it feels fine.

Steady around Hazlehead. Everything fine for most of the way then jarred my lower back slightly on a downhill which made it stiff. After finishing it got a lot worse and even trying to walk was extremely painful and difficult.

Easy run through Hazlehead and around Countesswells. Some stiffness from yesterday but nothing too bad. Did a bigger set of exercises than normal beforehand so reckon that was partly to blame.

Tuesday Oct 2, 2018 #

Running, mostly off road warm up/down 1:01:05 [2] 13.87 km (4:24 / km) +170m 4:09 / km

Warm up down to the Deeside line for a session, easy running between reps and cool down back home. Found a direct route down through Hazlehead and Cults to get on the cycle road, trails most of the way. Really happy with it as it's 5.5km so manageable as a warm up. Only problem is it's almost all uphill on the way back and today it was a strong headwind too.

Road Running intervals 25:00 [5] 8.19 km (3:03 / km) +30m 3:00 / km

5 x 5' (2' easy). Really pleased with the session as it was another windy day but the Deeside line was sheltered enough to run even splits at even effort. Legs felt good and smooth. Was working fairly hard on the last two but the pace didn't suffer. Easy recoveries were a bit quicker than I intended but probably didn't have much effect on the rep speeds.

Running, mostly off road 37:54 [2] 8.06 km (4:42 / km) +70m 4:30 / km

Easy run, same route as last night but following the technical trail at the start rather than the smooth way. Bit tired and slow.

Monday Oct 1, 2018 #

11 AM

Running, mostly off road 1:01:22 [2] 14.12 km (4:21 / km) +160m 4:07 / km

Easy Monday loop around Buscksburn valley and Sheddocksley. Much better legs and energy levels than yesterday although still a few bits of tightness remaining. Mixed in a few faster strides which felt good.
5 PM

Running, mostly off road 35:25 [2] 8.11 km (4:22 / km) +70m 4:11 / km

Easy run through Maidencraig. Grim weather so wrapped up in jackets, tights and a hat. Legs were okay though and I did a few strides to stretch out on the way back.
