Sunday Apr 21 #

10 AM

Running, mostly off road 1:01:31 [2] 14.4 km (4:16 / km) +60m 4:11 / km

Easy loop of the forest and estuary. Slightly stiff and lethargic as usual when tapering but the pace got gradually quicker with no effort.

Saturday Apr 20 #

10 AM

Running, mostly off road warm up/down 40:39 [2] 9.35 km (4:21 / km) +30m 4:17 / km

Warm up on the trails with a few strides. Cool down back through the forest. Legs feeling more bouncy today and slightly less lethargic when doing the strides. A few stiff muscles from running less recently.

Road Running tempo 26:02 [5] 8.05 km (3:14 / km) +20m 3:12 / km

Short tempo (5.3km) @ a bit under MP, 1.3km easy/steadyish recovery then a shorter rep (1.4km) @ 10k effort to finish. Random distances but worked with the route I was using. Slightly windy but less warm than the last days which was nice. Happy with how it went although I would have liked it to feel really easy.

Friday Apr 19 #

10 AM

Running, mostly off road 51:28 [3] 13.78 km (3:44 / km) +50m 3:40 / km

Steady run around the forest and estuary then a few strides at the end. Feeling a bit sluggish but wasn’t too bad by the end. Sun came out and made it warm up quickly.

Thursday Apr 18 #

10 AM

Running, mostly off road 1:11:41 [2] 17.02 km (4:13 / km) +70m 4:08 / km

Easy run on the trails with a set of strides just after halfway through. A little bit stiff to start with but the pace started creeping up despite it being really easy. Some of the paths are undulating and the elevation is probably not accurate but it’s still so much easier than at home. Warm sunshine during the run then thunderstorms soon after.

Wednesday Apr 17 #

10 AM

Running, mostly off road warm up/down 54:47 [2] 12.89 km (4:15 / km) +50m 4:10 / km

Warm up through the forest down to the road by the estuary then a few strides. Had planned to use the straight cycle road for the session but it was really busy with a kids football camp. Back to the apartment through the forest on the other side of the road for cool down.

Road Running tempo 38:00 [5] 11.34 km (3:21 / km) +40m 3:18 / km

3 x 10’ (4’ recovery roughly 1km). Used the loop with the estuary and undulating road. Mostly tarmac with a 1km gravel road section. The wind was strong and at 18 degrees it felt warm and really drying. First rep was comfortable then by the end of the second I was thirsty and hot. Didn’t have a drink (it was supposed to be raining) so just got through the last one without digging myself in a hole. The rain finally came on the cool down. Hopefully a few more runs in the warmth will help.
6 PM

Running, mostly off road 30:28 [2] 6.85 km (4:27 / km) +30m 4:21 / km

Easy run on the trails. Legs loosening off by the end.

Tuesday Apr 16 #

7 AM

Running, mostly off road 44:27 [2] 10.21 km (4:21 / km) +110m 4:08 / km

Easy loop of Hazlehead pre breakfast. Not too bad, getting back to fresh legs again.
5 PM

Running, mostly off road 37:04 [2] 8.53 km (4:21 / km) +30m 4:16 / km

Out in Monte Gordo for a bit before London. Nice to get some sunshine and warmth. Started off stiff from the journey but quickly loosened off on the nice forest trails.

Monday Apr 15 #

11 AM

Running, mostly off road 1:10:05 [2] 15.37 km (4:34 / km) +200m 4:17 / km

Easy run around Hazlehead and Countesswells. Legs felt good in the morning and for the first 30min of the run then the tiredness gradually set in so I cut it short. Overall not too stiff from yesterday compared to a usual hard session. Might go out for another easy one later if I feel better.
6 PM

Running, mostly off road 30:43 [2] 6.61 km (4:39 / km) +80m 4:23 / km

Easy loop on the trails from home. Slightly better legs than morning but left foot/ankle taking a while to loosen off.
