Sunday May 5 #

Running, mostly off road 51:26 [2] 10.52 km (4:53 / km) +220m 4:26 / km

Easy loop on the forest trails from Brodick. Noticing a big change in the recovery today and was so much easier and quicker. Muscles tender from yesterday’s hills but still felt better than any other day this week.

Easy cycle back in Kingswells and around Hazlehead.

Saturday May 4 #

8 AM

Hill running 3:34:22 [2] 26.66 km (8:02 / km) +1500m 6:17 / km

Making the most of the perfect weather and more recovered legs to get some summits in. Ran with Ginie up Glen Rosa to the col between Cir Mhor and Caisteal Abhail, took it easy and stopped a lot. From there I went up both peaks then back to the col and on to Beinn Tarsuinn and Beinn Nuis then back to Glen Rosa. Most of the uphill and ridge running was really good but a few bits were slow and technical. The final descent had a nasty boggy section too. Felt good for about 2hrs then my legs felt really stiff and heavy from the hills and terrain. The final 5km through the valley was so slow.

Easy jog along the coast then a loop around Brodick castle and back. Another slow day although improved leg function compared to any other day this week. Having a really easy day though.

Thursday May 2 #

Note

Fairly decent hike, probably 5hr walking time plus a lot of waiting. 20km/1000m

Running, mostly off road 56:59 [2] 10.39 km (5:29 / km) +130m 5:10 / km

Another easy jog from Brodick going up Glen Rosa then taking the single trail back towards the castle. More improvement with the legs, managed to break 5’ for a kilometre at last.

Wednesday May 1 #

9 AM

Running, mostly off road 57:56 [2] 10.41 km (5:34 / km) +250m 4:58 / km

Easy hilly run with Ginie exploring a few trails from Brodick. Less stiff than yesterday and loosening off throughout.
11 AM

Cycling 2:00:00 [1]

Easy cycle across the island and back with some tourist stops. Longish climb each way but easy effort.

Very easy jog with Ginie to see what the pains are like. Still very stiff but don’t think anything is too injured. Planning to keep things very easy for a while though.
