Road Running 41:06 [3] 10.37 km (3:58 / km) +140m 3:43 / km

Loop of the Chapelton of Elsick 10k course with Cameron starting easy and finishing steady. Got back less than 10 minutes before the start (due to a few wrong turns) so cutting it a bit fine!

Road Running race 32:25 [5] 10.0 km (3:15 / km) +140m 3:02 / km

Racing the same loop and glad of knowing the route. Nice course and probably 40% on gravel trail or grass. A few small climbs and one tough hill at 8km. Pulled away from
Cameron in the first 1-2km then ran fairly hard but comfortable to the end. Happy with how everything was apart from some lower back and adductor stiffness on the faster downhills. It’s been a while since I’ve let the legs go on anything like that. Good fun anyway.

Road Running warm up/down 17:42 [2] 3.74 km (4:44 / km) +40m 4:30 / km

Cool down with Ben and Cameron. Starting off fine then quickly getting too hungry to run.
5 PM

Running, mostly off road 39:16 [2] 8.29 km (4:44 / km) +90m 4:30 / km

Easy post race jog around Corsee. Stiff legs to start then easing off.

Running, mostly off road 58:15 [2] 13.63 km (4:16 / km) +120m 4:06 / km

Easy run through Crathes and Deeside line with a bit of a pickup and strides at the end. Sore stomach overnight but was fine running. Legs better than yesterday too.
6 PM

Running, mostly off road 28:01 [2] 5.71 km (4:54 / km) +60m 4:40 / km

Easy loop with Ginie. Stiff at the start then easing off.

Hill running 1:43:17 [3] 19.14 km (5:24 / km) +750m 4:31 / km

Hilly run over Scolty a few times. Legs stiff from yesterday but still enjoyed it.

Running, mostly off road warm up/down 33:55 [2] 7.56 km (4:29 / km) +60m 4:19 / km

Easy warm up to the Deeside line and a few strides. Back the same way.

Running, mostly off road intervals 30:00 [5] 8.92 km (3:22 / km) +30m 3:18 / km

15 x 1' (1' steady) on the Deeside line. Felt better this morning so went for something a bit quicker. Bit slippery underfoot with all the rain but happy enough with how it went.
6 PM

Road Running 34:40 [2] 8.13 km (4:16 / km) +80m 4:04 / km

Loop around the town on road to avoid the soggy trails. Noticed a bit of achilles stiffness at the start of runs since the weekend so hopefully it’ll ease off. Otherwise not too bad.

Running, mostly off road 1:00:39 [2] 13.74 km (4:25 / km) +170m 4:09 / km

Easy Crathes run. Another day feeling knackered but feeling good once out. Lots of mud on the trails but quite warm and humid.
6 PM

Running, mostly off road 36:33 [2] 6.86 km (5:20 / km) +100m 4:58 / km

Easy run with Ginie at Crathes. Nice single trails but slippery underfoot. Really tired all afternoon but improved just in time for the run.

Hill running 2:44:40 [3] 33.02 km (4:59 / km) +1040m 4:19 / km

Long loop from home over Scolty and Kerloch. Hadn’t planned to run as far but felt like it once I was out. Some paths ripped up by forestry but just about runnable. Legs were mostly fine but I was thirsty and hungry by the end.

5 AM

Hill running 55:22 [2] 10.02 km (5:32 / km) +460m 4:30 / km

Sunrise run up to Z’mutt on the way up to the Matterhorn trail. Completely clear morning and amazing views. Unbelievable how many tourists were out at 5am and the crowds out at 6am waiting for photos. Definitely time to leave Zermatt!
6 PM

Running, mostly off road 26:54 [2] 6.02 km (4:28 / km) +50m 4:17 / km

Short easy loop after the flights. Tired but definitely needed the fresh air.
