Running, mostly off road 2:12:10 [3] 33.41 km (3:57 / km) +360m 3:45 / km

Long flat run around the lakes from Silvaplana. First half felt good but then I got pretty thirsty at 15/16km and didn’t manage to get a drink until 22km so I faded a bit. It was better after having some water but by then my legs were tired and it was slightly uphill and in to the wind coming up from the lower lake. Still a good run and aerobically it was fine.

Loop over Piz Nair from Silvaplana. Good long climb although not really steep until the last bit. Enjoyed the descent too.

Long day of travel to St Moritz. Legs stiff and tried but felt better for the fresh air and moving the legs around the lake/forest.

Thursday Jul 18 #

Running, mostly off road warm up/down 39:18 [2] 8.56 km (4:35 / km) +50m 4:28 / km

Warm up down to Deeside line and a few strides. Cool down the same way home with more strides after the session. Didn't feel too tired after and was definitely moving quicker than the warm up strides.

Running, mostly off road tempo 49:00 [5] 14.45 km (3:23 / km) +70m 3:19 / km

4 x 10' (3') on the Deeside line. Some slippery sections and lots of puddles to dodge but still enjoyable and probably a better session than staying on the road. Legs didn't seem able to go very quick but each rep felt slightly better.

Easy run on the soft trails around Corsee, legs easing off throughout.

Loop through Blackhall and back along the river. Stiff at the start but eased off quickly and felt good most of the way, getting hungry by the end though.

Deeside line and Crathes run. Another slow start but feeling good after 1-2km and moving a lot better.

From home to Scolty plus extra warm up with Tom. Easy running afterwards too.

Hill running intervals 24:32 [5] 4.01 km (6:07 / km) +580m 3:33 / km

Five hill reps of 3-6’ on Scolty. First three were good and I felt strong but after that the hunger kicked in and I was a bit low on energy. Good to have some company though.

Easy run going to up to Hazlehead then on a short loop and back from the city. Stiff legs but gradually improving throughout.

Road Running 28:02 [2] 6.12 km (4:35 / km) +90m 4:16 / km

ASV up to Rubislaw, slightly better than the morning.
