10 AM

Hill running 3:38:13 [3] 43.02 km (5:04 / km) +1280m 4:25 / km

Long run from Glen Tanar to home via Gannoch, Forest of Birse, Ballogie and Scolty. Mostly good paths and one road section. The first 10km and last 10km was pretty good but the middle bit I was a bit unsure how hard I was running and if my legs would keep working. It was fine in the end though and it didn't feel too hard. Ate a banana, a few dates and a chia gel then drank about 900ml which definitely helped keep me going. It was warm and sunny so I could have done with more water.

Saturday Sep 21 #

8 AM

Running, mostly off road warm up/down 29:39 [2] 6.31 km (4:42 / km) +50m 4:31 / km

Easy warm up on the Deeside line then more easy running up to Crathes castle after the tempo. First few minutes I was tired but then everything got gradually easier.

Running, mostly off road tempo 16:52 [5] 5.22 km (3:14 / km) +20m 3:10 / km

Short tempo on the Deeside way to the Milton then a bit beyond. Felt better than expected, bit of a headwind but all fine.
9 AM

Running, mostly off road tempo 16:17 [5] 4.88 km (3:20 / km) +90m 3:03 / km

Crathes parkrun on the new course. Slightly more elevation and 1km less on the tarmac which is ideal. It was a good workout and I managed to push myself fairly hard. Ran a few seconds quicker than on the other course and so did Ginie which was interesting as I was expecting it to be a lot slower but the dry trails probably made a big difference.
10 AM

Running, mostly off road warm up/down 28:32 [2] 5.02 km (5:41 / km) +70m 5:19 / km

Easy cool down on some of the nicer trails then back home again.

11 AM

Running, mostly off road 1:04:24 [2] 13.04 km (4:56 / km) +350m 4:21 / km

Easy out to Scolty and back with a little loop to extend it. Perfect weather and legs fairly good. Did a few strides on the way back home. Calf a bit stiff in the evening but probably from a few bigger days.

Thursday Sep 19 #

10 AM

Running, mostly off road 1:15:08 [3] 20.22 km (3:43 / km) +90m 3:38 / km

Steady run out and back on the Deeside line. Everything feeling good and turning over nicely.
5 PM

Running, mostly off road 37:58 [2] 8.01 km (4:44 / km) +150m 4:20 / km

Easy one on the trails at Crathes. Bit more tired but feeling better by the end. Perfect weather too.

10 AM

Hill running 1:57:30 [2] 22.17 km (5:18 / km) +860m 4:26 / km

Over to Scolty and Goauch hill for a few climbs. Effort relaxed and mostly feeling good apart from a few stiff muscles from yesterday.

Road Running 35:00 [5] 10.15 km (3:27 / km) +100m 3:17 / km

9 x 3' (1' easy) on the undulating Blackhall road and river path. First few were quite slow then the last few were better but not particularly quick. No issues or tight bits though.
5 PM

Running, mostly off road 57:17 [2] 11.02 km (5:12 / km) +180m 4:48 / km

Easy run with Rob around the Crathes trails. Bit tired from the morning but otherwise fine.
