Back home again. Felt a bit rough after a dodgy landing in the storm so left the run until later. Legs not too bad but didn't fancy doing more.

Easy two laps of the hill loop. Not too tired after yesterday but left foot stiff again.

Up to the top of the hill and back. Last run of the camp so had to get to the summit for the only time on this trip.

Friday Feb 7 #

11km before the tempo and 4.5km after. Went on the gravel path from Cehegin starting easy and picking up the effort slightly. Started off chilly and overcast so I wore long sleeves but the sun came out straight after and it felt warm.

Tempo out and back on the cycle road. Planned to do 10km out and back but I got thirsty early on so did two 5km out and backs with a water and gel stop in the middle. It made it much easier mentally, before I turned at the first 5km I was starting to struggle but felt fresh again going back towards the drink and the second 10km was much better. It did mean doing the hilly bit of the cycle road twice but there was a tailwind on the uphills and headwind on the downhills so worked out fine. Felt good and finished strong.

Longer easy run around the hill loop twice and out and back through the fields. Legs feeling fresh and everything good.

Wednesday Feb 5 #

Warm up from Cieza along the river trail. Legs feeling quite fresh. Calm dry day but cloudy.

Road Running 30:05 [5] 10.0 km (3:01 / km) +20m 2:59 / km

10 x 1km (75s easy) out and back on the road. It went okay but just felt a bit empty and low on energy, maybe didn’t eat enough the night before and had a lighter than usual breakfast. Was quite comfortable running consistent splits and it didn’t feel very quick but I struggled to pick it up.

Easy run with Dan on the gravel path from Murcia uni. Stiff foot again but everything else not bad.

Tuesday Feb 4 #

Two laps of the hill loop then strides on the road. Tired at the start then going fairly well by the second lap and loosened off more in the strides. Decided against a harder session today, still a bit of stiffness from the weights and long run.

Easy loop down to the river and back from the apartment. Dodgy foot a bit stiff but otherwise not bad. Hot evening.

Monday Feb 3 #

Easy out and back run with Dan starting from the dam. Quite tired early on but got going alright. Hot day.
