Road Running 43:33 [2] 10.09 km (4:19 / km) +20m 4:16 / km

Warm up in Kinloss, super windy and cold. Was hoping to do more but didn't feel that great

Road Running tempo 1:05:00 [5] 21.13 km (3:05 / km) +100m 3:00 / km

Kinloss to Lossiemouth half marathon. Planned to run it around marathon pace but the massive tailwind meant most of it was a lot faster without being very hard. My legs were turning over quite well but I felt terrible on anything where the intensity increased, still not breathing well after the cold. Struggled on the uphills and lost time to Kenny but caught him on the faster parts so we had a bit of a battle until the end. I couldn't get going on the finish straight in to the wind and got passed in the final 80m. Couldn't race it properly which was fine as the plan was always to run within myself although it was tempting to try and run a fast wind assisted time, Kenny ran a 2min PB and some guys ran 7min PBs! Hopefully will feel better in a few days as it was not pleasant.

Cool down around town. Legs a bit battered from the wind assisted splits but otherwise fine.

Saturday Feb 15 #

Easy run through shooting greens and back by the river on the shortened route. Still blocked up with the cold today but wasn't bad when running easy. Not sure about racing the half marathon tomorrow. Not feeling good enough to run hard but maybe another day will help.

Easy run on the Crathes loop and longer strides afterwards. Feeling worse again, definitely turned in to a cold now. Felt fine when running easy though.

Thursday Feb 13 #

Longish run from home to Aberdeen on Deeside way then Hazlehead. Felt a bit ill the previous evening but better this morning so run was fine. Legs good and foot not bad either.

Wednesday Feb 12 #

Easy hilly run around the Scolty trails. Woke up feeling a bit blocked up and with a sore head but it went away once outside.

S&C session, nothing too heavy but all fine.

Road Running 37:20 [2] 8.13 km (4:36 / km) +20m 4:32 / km

Easy run from ASV to near Duthie park for the group session. Foot feeling a bit better than on the recent runs.

Tuesday Feb 11 #

Warm up on the paths around town and Deeside line.

Road Running intervals 34:23 [5] 11.02 km (3:07 / km) +40m 3:04 / km

5 x 2.1km (850m easy) then a 500m effort at the end. Used the Tesco loop but started partway around to do less of the uphill headwind section. The recoveries were in the worst of the wind which made them less easy but it worked out fine. Happy with the session considering the wind.
5 PM

Running, mostly off road 38:11 [2] 8.07 km (4:44 / km) +80m 4:30 / km

Easy lap of Corsee woods and back. Foot a bit stiff but otherwise not bad. Got the first half done before I needed the head torch.

Monday Feb 10 #

Deeside line and Crathes with a few bits added on. Cold and windy but everything feeling good. Foot getting slightly better too. Did some strides on the way back.

Road Running 41:05 [2] 9.1 km (4:31 / km) +100m 4:17 / km

Round the town loop then a bit more with the group warm up. All good.
