Scolty and Kerloch route with Richard. Wee bit easier than I'd normally run on the climbs and descents but still a good solid run. Feeling a bit stiff and tired towards the end, still not 100% from last weekend.

Out and back on the closed gate path and Blackhall river path. First flat and smooth run since last weekend, still not fully recovered but felt not bad. Wore a chest HR strap to check how things are looking and to see if the wrist HR of 160 average for an easy run the other day was accurate or not. Luckily not!

Warm up on the Deeside line and across the park with a few strides. Cool down back from the top of Scolty. Legs not too bad after but just feeling thirsty.

Hill running intervals 45:29 [5] 8.15 km (5:35 / km) +700m 3:54 / km

Tested out some hills and felt quite good climbing, was prepared to run easy if I was tired but it felt fine at a hard effort. Did one 12' climb from below the car park to the top then 3 x 7' on the usual hill with easy recovery running down the steep direct route to the start of the rep. It wasn't amazing but it was worth doing.

Short dog jog in the woods behind the house. All nice twisty single trails with plenty of roots and stones. It warmed up the dodgy foot quite quickly but had to be careful early on not to twist it.

Easy Scolty and Goauch run. Found some awesome new MTB paths on Goauch in the last week or two so tried to do one as a descent. Took a wrong turn (not again!) and ended up in the forest without a path so kept running through the rough stuff and came out on a path eventually.

New watch gives much more elevation and a tiny bit more distance compared to the old one. Maybe they're just set up to do that for a few weeks to make you think you're running better with it. Always knew the old one was a bit unforgiving though, it always measured short compared to other people.

Easy loop going up the river then over Goauch and Scolty. Legs improved a lot on yesterday with the day off running. Nothing particularly sore but just taking it easy.

Cycling 1:55:00 [2]

Mountain bike ride around shooting greens then back through Glassel with a few extra bits to bulk it up to 40km. Legs weren't too bad and I could have ran but it wasn't going to do any good. Had a headache part of the day as well.
