Running, mostly off road warm up/down 53:29 [2] 10.34 km (5:10 / km) +140m 4:51 / km

Warm up from Comrie Croft, cool down from the race finish back down. Started warming up a little late and couldn't get on the course at all so had to do a few out and backs on a section of trail. Could have done with a bit more if I'd know the first part of the race was so quick.

Hill running race 50:55 [5] 11.68 km (4:22 / km) +800m 3:15 / km

Scottish hill running champs, uphill only. 8km of XC type racing with a few longer hills then a really solid 500m climb to the end. The start was fast and after 200m or so it went downhill on a gravel road which felt like a flat out sprint trying to stay near Andy and Ross. There were some sharp corners and narrow bits after that so I was glad of being near the front but it was such an effort to keep up with all the changes in rhythm and not knowing what was coming.

Think I dropped to 4/5th at one point but reeled in the guys once on a flatter wider section. Andy was just ahead and pulled a bit more time out of me on the hilly grassy stuff as I was suffering. On the plus side everyone else vanished and I could get in to more of a rhythm. It took another few km to get back to the point of being able to run well uphill after starting too fast but it was worth taking that bit easier. Andy wasn't getting any further ahead and once it got steep I could see the first signs of struggle just as I was starting to feel good. I was a bit worried there wasn't enough climb left to get a proper gap before it flattened but when I went by he didn't fight back. It levelled out slightly but the path was more heathery and softer so just as tiring. Pushed all the way to the end and was about 40s ahead of Andy. Really happy with the run after feeling terrible for the first half.

Two races so far this season, not sure if I'll get another one so at least they've been fun. The 30 person wave this time made it much more competitive and fun although it was ridiculous how fast people started!

Easy run from Dunblane on some smooth trails towards the Ochils. Turned back before hitting any proper hills.

Running, mostly off road 28:39 [2] 6.15 km (4:40 / km) +130m 4:13 / km

Another easy one on the trails with Ginie joining on the bike. Steep start then easy running after. Tried to do a few strides on the flatter bits but it wasn't very impressive.

Corsee and Brathens loop with some speed variations and steadier running at times. Tried to mix in a few short uphill efforts. Felt tired at the start but better towards the end. Nice warm sunny run.

Scolty and Goauch hill with the dog before the vets. Less fresh than yesterday somehow but never mind.

Easy evening Crathes loop. All good.

Post physio run from ASV to Culter via Maidencraig, Hazlehead, Countesswells and Beanshill. Plenty of good trails and quieter than I expected. Legs feeling pretty good.

Road Running warm up/down 45:05 [2] 10.3 km (4:23 / km) +80m 4:13 / km

Easy running to the rep road plus strides. Cool down back through Hill of Banchory.

Road Running intervals 25:00 [5] 8.18 km (3:03 / km) +70m 2:56 / km

5 x 5' (2' easy) out and back on the undulating road. Good session, legs moving well after the first one. Happy with how it went.

Running, mostly off road 45:24 [2] 9.41 km (4:49 / km) +90m 4:36 / km

Easy Crathes loop with Ginie. Not too bad but legs definitely feel like they've had a workout.
