Running, mostly off road 2:19:10 [2] 30.06 km (4:38 / km) +720m 4:08 / km

Longish run from Balmoral. Planned to go over the hill to Loch Muick and back but it was too windy and exposed so the second half was in the forest towards Ballochbuie and back. It was all quite hilly but easier than being in the wind. Legs felt quite good all the way.

Running, mostly off road 1:48:48 [3] 26.56 km (4:06 / km) +160m 3:59 / km

Home to Duthie Park the most direct way on the Deeside line. 50% water running with some trail and road mixed in. Absolutely soaked after a few minutes and struggling to get the legs turning over with the wind (cross/headwind) and endless puddles. Once on the final 10km it was more sheltered and the pace creeped up. Glad to get a solid one done early.

Road Running 1:03:40 [2] 13.71 km (4:39 / km) +110m 4:28 / km

Out on the road through Crathes, back a shorter way. Fine sunny day but breezy.

Road Running hills 12:39 [5] 3.31 km (3:49 / km) +250m 2:46 / km

6 x long hills, 5 x short hills + 1 long to finish. Testing the Crathes hill on the crematorium road, it is tough. Feels steep. Felt a bit low on energy and tired after yesterday but it was still worthwhile.
6 PM

Running, mostly off road 42:27 [2] 9.03 km (4:42 / km) +80m 4:30 / km

Easy Crathes loop with the torch. Not feeling too bad.

Running, mostly off road 32:29 [2] 7.19 km (4:31 / km) +70m 4:18 / km

Short easy one picking up some supplies.
11 AM

Note

5hr fast hike joining in the search for Chris. Nasty weather and mostly off path. Needed the map and compass to stay right. Hungry and soaked by the end.

Running, mostly off road 1:43:15 [2] 23.32 km (4:26 / km) +440m 4:03 / km

Easy shooting greens loop with the dog. Pretty nice day for it and everything moving fine. Seem to be getting back to normal with the various aches and pains.
3 PM

Note

S&C at ASV. All good, similar weights to last week but the legs didn't fail at the end.

Running, mostly off road 34:20 [2] 7.62 km (4:30 / km) +80m 4:17 / km

Warm up on the paths around Hill of B. Stiffness easing quite quickly but felt a bit flat. Stiffness returned for the cool down.

Road Running tempo 34:27 [5] 10.62 km (3:15 / km) +80m 3:08 / km

Tempo run around town, extended out to Burnett Park and then another loop added at the end to top up. Felt good early on with the 2km climb and good on the downhill. Didn't feel as in control on the flat parts then the final hill was a bit of a struggle. Enjoyed it though. Might go for an out of town route next time though.
6 PM

Running, mostly off road 32:54 [2] 7.02 km (4:41 / km) +50m 4:32 / km

Short easy one on the Deeside line with the torch. Not feeling as bad as expected.

Hill running 1:32:59 [2] 18.02 km (5:10 / km) +600m 4:25 / km

Scolty and Goauch hill. Definitely better than yesterday, almost feeling back to normal on the climbs and descents. One section was churned up badly and after that I was a bit stiffer until the end.
5 PM

Road Running 16:35 [3] 3.66 km (4:32 / km) +20m 4:25 / km

Short jog and strides on the business park road. It's normally empty but it coincided with parents picking up kids from the nursery so a few strides were interrupted. Took 2-3 to get moving freely then it was fine. Still didn't feel I was going that fast but it's been a while without any fast stuff.
