Running, mostly off road 2:30:06 [3] 38.36 km (3:55 / km) +260m 3:47 / km

Deeside line out and back to Culter. Windy in places, bad after the turn back but better once in the trees for the last 15km. Effort felt really relaxed and less tiring by the end than previous long runs. Only thing was leaving quite soon after a light breakfast and noticing some stomach discomfort throughout.

Easy Scolty run. A few slushy patches but mostly just mud. Legs quite stiff.

Friday Feb 19, 2021 #

Running, mostly off road warm up/down 34:59 [2] 7.51 km (4:39 / km) +70m 4:27 / km

Deeside line and paths through HoB. Still plenty of mud. Feeling tired and a bit stiff but easing off with the soft trails.

Road Running intervals 53:09 [5] 16.0 km (3:19 / km) +130m 3:12 / km

8 x 1km (1km steady recovery) using the loop. Wet and windy day but that made it quiet on the pavements. Happy with the session, better than I expected after a few days of being tired and with the weather.

Thursday Feb 18, 2021 #

Deeside line and Crathes. The path has been under deep water 2km before Drumoak so didn't bother wading through it. Stiff legs and tired from yesterday.

Running, mostly off road 43:22 [2] 9.12 km (4:45 / km) +100m 4:30 / km

Crathes loop with Ginie. So good to be running off road in the evening without a torch. Slightly less tired than the morning but noticing the DOMS kicking in.

Wednesday Feb 17, 2021 #

Deeside line towards Drumoak then back through Crathes. Icy patches where the slush was yesterday. Legs tired and a bit stiff.

Gym session. Quite heavy stuff and plenty of jumping.

Running, mostly off road 40:29 [2] 8.06 km (5:01 / km) +100m 4:44 / km

Lochton of Leys and Drumshalloch loop. Sloppy mud, deep puddles and some long sections of ice. Fading daylight made it tricky as well. Got back on smoother ground for the final few km.

Tuesday Feb 16, 2021 #

Road Running warm up/down 57:36 [2] 12.38 km (4:39 / km) +120m 4:26 / km

Long warm up out to the Lochton road and back. Had hoped to do a session there but still some slush and ice covering the road so had to come back. Cool down loop around HoB.

Road Running intervals 33:38 [5] 10.97 km (3:04 / km) +80m 2:57 / km

4 x 500m (50s), 4 x 750m (80s), 4 x 1500m (1'50). Used the business road for the 500s then turned at the end to the new housing development to get the 750m. Did that out and back for the 1500s. Quite enjoyed the session, helped get up to speed starting with the short reps but it was tough at the end. Windy day and two short climbs in the middle of the 1500s so it slowed the pace slightly. Hungry by the end.

Deeside way and Crathes loop. Mostly melted but a few slushy sections. Slightly tired but not too bad.

Monday Feb 15, 2021 #

Road Running 1:07:50 [2] 16.21 km (4:11 / km) +160m 3:59 / km

Road loop around Hirn plus strides. Much warmer and big thaw happening. Roads mostly clear of snow but some slush and flooded sections. Legs not bad, nice to be wearing shorts again.
