Running, mostly off road 1:09:03 [2] 14.5 km (4:46 / km) +180m 4:29 / km

Easy loop with Stephen along the coast and back, strides in the middle. Legs pretty good after the last days, felt fine and moving well on the strides.

Road Running 31:45 [2] 6.53 km (4:52 / km) +100m 4:31 / km

Easy down to the castle then a few loops on the grass while Stephen took pics. Feet and calves stiff starting out and then good on the second half. Generally feeling good though.

Hill running 2:28:13 [2] 20.3 km (7:18 / km) +1640m 5:12 / km

Two climbs of Ben Ledi with Jacob and Stephen. Legs felt ok after yesterday, ankles a bit stiff on the first descent with the short rougher section. The second climb was better than expected, just kept it easy though. Good run and plenty of vert. Had two flasks of tailwind and three gels, back on the beta 40g ones which went down ok.

Easy climbs of Arthur’s seat with Stephen. Started a bit late so was hungrier than usual, had some gels and tailwind so was ok though. Legs felt ok, ankles were a bit stiff but eased off. Effort was nice and easy.

Easy loop on the trails with strides in the middle. Everything ok but some tiredness in the calves and quads after yesterday. Strides helped though.

Wednesday Jun 5 #

Running out towards Ben Ledi plus running down and back on the gravel track to avoid most of the tarmac. Legs feeling pretty good. Just a cold windy day, had my jacket on from the start.

Hill running 33:15 [4] 4.78 km (6:57 / km) +820m 3:45 / km

1km easing into a moderate effort on the cycle road as it started to climb and then into the Ben Ledi climb at a tempo effort to see how things are feeling. It was the first time in ages I've been able to run hard and feel my lungs working. Legs felt absolutely fine. Was good until getting to the ridge and a really strong headwind and heavy snow. It was grim and freezing so slowed down a bit. Solid run though and think the body is fine to do some intensity again.

Easy along the coast then a short loop near Queensferry and back. Felt a bit stiff first thing but eased off and got better throughout. Effort felt really easy and the legs were moving well. Did strides after an hour and they were fine too.

Easy loop along the coast then back on the upper trail, strides in the middle on the road. Nice warm sunny day. Legs felt good after a few minutes and energy levels were fine too. The strides felt rusty on the first few then getting better. Felt completely normal again, no issues and legs feeling really strong.
6 PM

Running, mostly off road 31:18 [2] 6.2 km (5:03 / km) +140m 4:32 / km

Easy Binns trails from home. More vegetation than last time so less good. Legs felt fine and effort was nice and easy. No issues.
