Feeling rough, bad head cold and no chance of getting out. Slightly better by evening

Running, mostly off road 1:02:49 [2] 12.58 km (5:00 / km) +320m 4:26 / km

Easy up to Beecraigs then two short loops in the forest plus going up to Cockleroy once. Did a mini photo shoot at the top for something. Legs a bit stiff after yesterday but felt good otherwise.

Running, mostly off road 47:21 [2] 10.58 km (4:29 / km) +140m 4:12 / km

Easy back home from my brother’s house along the coast, some strides in the middle every few minutes on the flat sections. Felt a bit rough in the afternoon but seemed to get better in the run. A few hours later I felt properly ill with sneezing, blocked up head and headaches.

Road Running warm up/down 40:30 [2] 8.99 km (4:30 / km) +90m 4:17 / km

Warm up to the canal and a few gentle strides. Back home again after the session. Felt tired on the cool down.

Road Running intervals 40:00 [4] 11.97 km (3:21 / km) +20m 3:19 / km

10 x 2' (2' cruise) by the canal. Good to be back running faster again and feeling good. Eased into it since it's been a while. The first two didn't feel very smooth then it began to click and I could pick it up over the second half slightly without pushing much. Aerobically felt strong. Legs were well worked by the end.

Easy out and back on the coast with strides in the middle. Legs a bit heavy starting out and quads feeling a bit stiff in places but mostly all good. The strides were fine then things were moving better after.

Running, mostly off road 31:42 [2] 6.57 km (4:49 / km) +110m 4:27 / km

Easy out and back on the road then on the trail through the strip and back. Fine easy run, nothing to report.

Wednesday Jun 12 #

11 AM

Running, mostly off road warm up/down 1:07:40 [2] 14.01 km (4:50 / km) +80m 4:42 / km

Callander towards Ben Ledi for 4km then back off the top and on the gravel track after the tempo. Was a bit hungry before starting so grabbed a snack just before starting then made it through ok.

Hill running tempo 37:48 [4] 5.5 km (6:52 / km) +900m 3:47 / km

Tempo starting on the cycle road a few minutes before the Ben Ledi climb to the top then jogged down the other side just under 1km and went back up for another 6-7' of uphill. The climb felt better than last week, the whole thing was around the right intensity instead of starting really hard then suffering and then slowing in the wind. Conditions were better so I was a minute faster on the climb but overall it just felt like a smoother run. After jogging down a few minutes my legs felt fine again for the last little bit.

Easy out and back along the coast with hill sprints on the way back. Pretty good run, legs feeling fine. The hills were good too although it's been a while since I've done them.

Running, mostly off road 30:57 [2] 6.19 km (5:00 / km) +130m 4:31 / km

Easy loop of the Binns trails. Everything feeling pretty good this evening, legs fresh straight from the door which is unusual.

Hill running 1:33:19 [2] 15.04 km (6:12 / km) +990m 4:40 / km

Easy over Dumyat to Menstrie and back. Felt really fresh and easy on the climbs, was moving well and trying to not let the effort creep up at all. Nice and dry underfoot which helped too. Enjoyed it.
