Warm up and cool down before/after 24k specific endurance run

Moved this from Sunday to Saturday for a couple of reasons. I did what was required, Run wise, but I didn't feel 'in control'. Maybe that's the way it was meant to feel, but I always seemed to have to work at it and never really got into a flow or felt relaxed. From 9-10 miles I was definitely feeling the effort. In the last couple of miles my quads were tiring, particularly on the final uphill. All that said, harder effort complete :)

Easy run on tired legs, although they always improve a bit after 10 mins. Still very windy. Stayed out a little longer just because I'm not sure if I'll get out again later (didn't want to get up much earlier than 5am).

Strong winds, blinding rain and hills! All made for a entertaining run that seemed to fly by. Legs were a bit heavy on the uphills but I managed. Run predominately based on effort, as pace was hard to measure in the conditions. Tough effort at the end, before a jog home - about 15 mins.

Out of bed and onto the road, started with an easy first mile then got moving. Legs feeling good and responsive. Feeling a bit tired in general but the miles are passing and the enthusiasm is greater than ever!

Easy enjoyable run around a normal easy day route. Relaxed and enjoyed it. Legs a bit tired, but nothing too bad! Feeling strong.

Another very easy effort, legs starting to improve, still just a little tender on downhill. Could have pushed on a bit but didn't bother. Technical exercises completed, quads a little stiff to start, but improved.

Easy run, legs feeling quite good, a little heavy on the hills but otherwise good.

Easy run on roads, undulating route. Quads very tired and tender on the downhill. I didn't push at all, just jogged easy.

Immediate thoughts were...to fast! But if it makes since, I was more comfortable 'cruising' at this speed rather than closer to 7s, as that took more thinking and amending the pace quite often. Felt good, again until around 1.45 or slightly before that, but where I saw some improvement was that I was able to carry on despite the tiredness, although it took a bit of work, I didn't hit the wall as such. The last 20 mins were a grind and my quads were very tired and tender! All in all, I'm happy with this. From around 11 miles to 18-19 miles were into a chilly headwind on the coast road.
