Basics in Lunsen. Only with brown features, but looks more difficult than it really is, as you mostly use contours on this terrain anyway.

Well, “basics in Lunsen” are always special and I feel lucky to live so close from this orienteering paradise, even when it is covered with 5-10 cm of snow like this morning.

Running 1:20:00 [1] 15.5 km (5:10 / km)

My favourite winter activity when I am in Uppsala: ice-skating. Sadly (or luckily), over the last 2 years, the mild weather has not offered very good skating condition. But seems like this week, the ice is pretty perfect and there are quite many kilometres opened. Went from Skärholmen to Hammarskog today and didn´t several loops there. Pure enjoyment.

Nothing match the feeling of gliding over 40km/h, with the kind help a strong tailwind.

Middle distance in Quinta das Lavandas, from the Orievents training package. Planned to run it with a competition effort, but decided during the warm-up to stop digging my own grave and went easy instead.

2 PM

Orienteering (Continental) 50:00 [1] *** 7.9 km (6:20 / km)
25c shoes: VJ Irock 2016

The last training from this stay in Portugal – a multitechnique in Arez. Tried for the first time, the inverted corridor (the 2 first controls), an idea I got from Jarkko Ryyppö, here in Attackpoint. It is an interesting concept, and it forces you to look far ahead, and evaluate the distances and angles compare to the features around you.

Need to be tested a bit more for a real evaluation, but I did thereafter a classic line-O to compare how I used the features. It seems, with the inverted corridor, that I was looking farther, and had a better flow. This terrain is also probably very suitable for this type of exercise.

Downhills intervals in Barragem da Póvoa e Meadas. A great training to keep a decent speed, even if my legs are killed since a long time… #onedayleft
