Strömstadmedeln at Hälle, with a quite relevant terrain and atmosphere for WOC 2016.


Results

I had a pretty good race, with only couple of small mistakes. The speed is not yet there, but it was great to wear a racing kit again, and try to attack a tough middle distance course today. Still, I am happy to have some more months to sharpen my routes in this type of terrain.

Training in Prestebakke (World Cup 2015 terrain).

Nice to start again the specific preparation for WOC 2016. Far from optimal today, but it always takes time to remember it is not 2,5 contours intervals here, and therefore all route-choices need a little more caution. Rusty at the beginning, and a little bit too excited to meet up with Frenchies, ended in miss-punching the 4th control too…



The steeper slopes with cliffs will definitively be one of the main challenge at WOC. Either going up or down can be tough. It is really hard to make a good drawing from those specific areas and give a clear idea about the different passages between the cliffs. But, at least, the new coming ISOM where the impassable features will not be allowed to pass (like in ISSOM) will probably make it a bit more fair.


Always nice to speak some french (also rusty), and even nicer to have a birthday pie waiting at the finish! #tack

Training day in Stockholm.

A quick trip to south Stockholm to enjoy some of the best terrains there. Started the day at Getaren (10mila 2011). Lovely.

A quick visit at Paradiset too. Not much to add, as everything is already said with the name of this nature reserve.



Tried to speed-up a bit in the middle part with the "normal" map, but somehow the gulaschsoppa and blåbärspaj (highly recommended though) from lida friluftsgård wasn´t helping much.
