Ronning race 17:02 [5]5 km (3:24 / km)
I was feeling loose before the start. Did lots of stretches, a jog and even a couple of run throughs. This was to be my first running race in a year. I was expecting to be a basket case by the end. I lined up at the start very relaxed. Gun went I started on my way. As nature would have it I slotted in behind Stuie Doyle and Dave Osmond after a hundred metres in 5th spot. I stayed relaxed and let them break all the wind down the hill. I resisted the urge to go after Leane.
We hit the bitumen I knew I had the wrong shoes on. My feet were slapping the tarmac making an awful sound. I stayed loose until 2km when they surged up a hill. I let them go and tried to stay loose. At the turn I could see my lover, friends and nemises lined back over the bridge. Claringbold, Jacobs, Hoggster, Ace Jase, Searlo, Lorac, MissJones were all there. I was stuffed but still loose.
Adrian Shep was the only one to catch me on the way back. He nabbed me with 800m to go. I had nothing in the bank to counter his surge.
I could have had a dip at a sub 17, but will save that for another day.

Ronning 1:10:00 [3]13 km (5:23 / km)
Lorac and I walked down from the tent at Dalmeny and onto the beach. I was barefoot, Lorac was shoes. We jogged along the beach hoping to make a rocky headland way in the distance we now know as potato point. I thought it would be 5km one way, but turned out to be 6.5km.
We made the headland in 35 minutes. My ankles were aching. The sand was particularly hard.
After a brief walk along the rocks we headed back.
After five minutes I got all the gear off and did my first nude run for 2007. Maybe I lasted 15 minutes in the nud until I spotted a lone fisherman 1km in the distance. I got the gear back on before he could notice my fishing tackle dragging on the sand.
It was a glorious run.
