Brandywine Creek SP.
Miserable conditions, started out with snow, then heavy rain, mid-30's.
Chose Brown due to conditions. First DNF in 15 years :-) I guess I was pushing harder than usual, or it was all that climb, or the stream crossing up to my navel, but my brain was completely fried after the 5th control. As I was headed to 6, I ended up near 9 (with map contact all the way!), then as I realized what I was doing, I headed to 7. Nearing 7, checking the control description, I couldn't even see the spring on the map (CD was wrong) but noticed a stone wall for 6 on the CD, which I didn't recall visiting... Checked my punches, and sure enough 5 was the last control I went to. Decided a walk back to the start was probably the safest by now as I'd had my one hour exercise session anyway.
I'd never experienced anything like this. I guess it's about time!
