Note

Hours of pushing buggy around. Up and down hills. Wanted to swim but the beach we landed on had a load of marine debris washed up. With it some jellyfish. A few people were stung and had local hotel guys help. Opted not to swim and watch kids with nets scoop them up and roast them in the rocks instead

Running 1:28:40 intensity: (39 @0) + (21:27 @1) + (1:00:31 @2) + (4:59 @3) + (1:04 @4) 17.01 km (5:13 / km) +246m 4:52 / km

Longest run in a long long time. Stealth mode out the door at 0530 so as not to wake the sleeping beauties.

Plan was all 19 Cala D'or roundabouts in order and 4:30 run 0:30 walk. The roads to myself for a while until sunrise. Needed map as the town us a little maze and I was heading to new ground. Got the run done visiting a couple of beaches but wrecked for a finish. Sort of like urban orienteering. Was mentally toast also.

Sleep v poor again after v trying night with Zoe. Poor thing blocked up, choking cough and hysterical. Then a day of pushing and lifting the buggy. No relaxing at the beach following Zoe around and playing on her terms.

After her nap (thankfully she finally slept) I headed out for a run planning to meet Caz and Zoe at a beach. No map as I had a fair idea of the route. Missed a turn toward the end though, lapped an estate, hit the wrong beach before finally hooking up. It was warm and the hills were a slog

Swimming (Open Water) 18:04 [3] 0.99 km (18:16 / km)

Took a little video of the girls playing while my core body temp dropped a few degrees from the run. It was later evening and the sun low. The water was so inviting but chilly. My goggles are old so not great visibility. The low sun made it worse swimming back to the beach. 2 laps of the cove and done. I felt wrecked. Pace for each of the short swims this week same. Assuming I can hold for 3.8km it will see me out of the water for Challenge Galway in about 70mins. A full 12 min worse than my best. Not that it matters as it's going to be a long day on bike and foot.

Swimming (Open Water) 18:29 [3] 1.02 km (18:08 / km)
slept:8.0

Different beach. Water just as nice but busy. Had to scarper from an oncoming tourist ferry bearing down on me. Caz rightly lectured me about being safer.

Conditioning (Calisthenics ) 1:10:00 [3]

Sweaty workout while Zoe slept. Different kettle of fish having a toddler on hols..

Swimming (Open Water) 17:31 [2] 0.96 km (18:17 / km)
slept:3.0

Wrecked after a long broken night sleep. Poor Zoe not well but smiling through her days like a trooper.

Beautiful beach in a Cove tempted me in for a swim in my favourite place to swim (that I've been), the Med. Crystal clear cool water, marine life and little caves to explore. Short swim but love love loved it. HIt the beach just as a tourist glass bottomed ferry pulled in. Lucky I was in as it may not have seen me 250m out from the beach.

Running 55:39 intensity: (10 @0) + (4:39 @1) + (28:05 @2) + (14:06 @3) + (8:26 @4) + (13 @5) 10.86 km (5:07 / km) +155m 4:47 / km

Cala D'or has 19 numbered roundabouts. Fun to plot a route and find my way around with the map. Meandered by beaches, bustling night life and a marina with mega yachts to stare in awe. Longest run in yonks but enjoyed it despite the effort moving through the zones

Conditioning (Stretching) 25:00 [1]

Nice hilly meander around Cala D'Or with map in hand. Tourist map so not exact. A couple of cul de sacs but I more or less stuck to planned route. Lovely to run in warm sunshine for a change. Included a beautiful little coasteering section that I plan to swim later in the week. Beaches are stunning little coves

Running 22:27 [3] 4.13 km (5:27 / km) +34m 5:14 / km
shoes: NB 1080 White

Short run in to the Maternity to meet Caz. 21 weeks and all ok.
Figured not a hope I'll run this whole marathon in a few weeks so this was seeing what 4:30 run 0:30 walk felt like. I think I may be adopting it.
11 PM

Road Bike (Turbo) 1:20:01 intensity: (2:04 @0) + (1:16:35 @1) + (1:22 @2) 42.1 km (31.6 kph)
ahr:125 max:134 shoes: Shimano TR51

Steady spin at 211w avg watching ARWC Raid in France 12 and ITERA 14. First 10 mins felt terrible but solid once warmed up. Body a bit tired after a few hours of garden labour today so bailed after 80 mins
