Running warm up/down 10:00 [1] 1.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Falcon O-shoe with studs

Warmup before Turkey-O.

Orienteering race (CNYO Turkey-O) 1:31:53 [3] 8.4 km (10:56 / km)
shoes: Falcon O-shoe with studs

I did not think I was doing that bad till I saw Rob behind me at #6 in second loop. There were some burps here and there but no major mistakes. While doing preliminary split comparison what sticked out was times lost on #4 and #6 in second loop where I was executing my route without any major mistakes however I lost significant time on those legs. Definitely execution going to #4 was not aggressive enough. Run with Rob ti #7, we had executed different plans going to #8 to cross each others path few times during the leg. I did not see him after #9.

Physically not the best performance, technically I thought I did not do that bad but results beg the difference.

Orienteering race (Sprint) 12:43 [5] 1.3 km (9:47 / km)
shoes: Falcon O-shoe with studs

It was not easy to push physically after 1 1/2 hour race already. It showed when I had to run up small incline to #4 and I could barely move. No major mistakes. I think it was clean race for me, was hitting flags dead-on. Going to # I was planning to run by green till it becomes white but it never happened. I knew that I was way past the green on map but I did not see enough "white" to cut through. Ended up way down by the trail, close to trail bent actually and I had to run up the trail to get the flag. Mistake not by design but by circumstances. Overall I could see tracks left in snow by Rob and Mike when I was running. I don't think it helped too much. Maybe it was even distraction. For example - going to #6 there was road option and straight option. Initially I was planning going on road but once I climbed up to #5 I changed my mind since I saw that straight line looked very runnable and would save few yards of up and down climb. While executing my route I noticed that someone else went straight as well but I did not see two different footprints. I was wondering if it was Rob or Mike. I should have checked if it was spiked trail or sneaker trail but I did not think about that.
