Run warm up/down 20:00 [2] 3.0 km (6:40 / km)

Run tempo 20:14 [5] 5.0 km (4:03 / km)

Parkrun. Really good run and did a PB, however, it could have been an even better PB had I not stopped at the wrong flags in the finish.

Orienteering (Training) 28:53 [3] 4.0 km (7:13 / km)

Corridor training (shaped like a kangaroo) set by Theo at Campbell Park. It was really good because it was actually quite difficult in parts where it was vague or the vegetation/termite mounds where unclear. Really good exercise for compass direction and map contact and I was happy that most of the time I managed to keep good flow. The only downside was the ridiculous amounts of spider webs we ran through.

Run (Terrain) 49:30 [3] 7.0 km (7:04 / km)

Went for my first training terrain run which was really good but showed me I definitely need to work on my toughness through the bush.
Went through the flats, up the other side to the road, the mostly contoured around quite high up then over past the restaurant, down and back up to the trig from the other side through the rocky sections. I realised I'd been out longer than expected and was not going to make it home in the planned 40mins so took the traversing track and the rest of the tracks home via an off-track stop and the little bench hill.

Run warm up/down 10:00 [1] 1.0 km (10:00 / km)

Orienteering 39:05 [3] 5.2 km (7:31 / km)

O at Campbell Parklands, probably our most boring map because its heaps of suburb running and the actual bush section, which is the only good bit, of it got covered up by the control descriptions!
Had the training map which was basically all the different legs chopped apart, flipped around, jumbled up and with different scales just to make you think a bit more to find each.
Made a full 180 degree error going out from one because the north line was so small and didn't even register the streets being the wrong shape. After that was all fine I just wasn't running very fast.

Run warm up/down 21:00 [2] 3.0 km (7:00 / km)

Run intervals 30:12 [4] 6.24 km (4:50 / km)

5 x 1km intervals with Stephen, Ciaran and Ewan. Had really sore upper hamstrings from strength yesterday (probably the squat jumps) so I was struggling and it was really tough but still pushed as hard as I could.
Definitely went out too hard on the first one though, which was almost 15sec faster than any of the other reps.

Run warm up/down 15:39 [1] 2.09 km (7:29 / km)

Strength 31:00 [3]

Mainly half of Zoe's gymnastics strength, a few things more than half. Also added a couple more exercises.

Run long 1:22:41 [4] 13.78 km (6:00 / km)

Quite a hilly long run today because I decided to try and take all the tracks on Red Hill that I wouldn't normally use. This made it kind of hard because I wasn't used to that route and there was a lot more up and down than I thought.
Started through the quarry, around and up to the road on the fire trail inside the fence, down the road to the main track behind and up the tardis track. From there I went down the steep track but turned to go along the traversing track to the saddle and up and over the trig. Went diagonally right instead of continuing along the ridge line, which took me right down to Hindmarsh where I turned left to head gradually back up to the ridge (unfortunately I didn't find the tunnel under Hindmarsh which I have heard about). Went back over the ridge track to the saddle, then left and along the undulating track behind the Garran houses to the main saddle, then diagonally down and along the single track parallel to the big track.. From where it re-joined the big track, the usual way the rest of the way around the bottom, through the quarry again, then straight down to the Telstra building and home along Birdwood.
Felt pretty good most of the time but it was quite tiring with quite undulant tracks but the end was fairly flat so it was all good!
