Tough run round all the peaks in Holyrood park. Second time up Arthurs Seat today as I'd walked up earlier with the family. Reasonably good form in the early parts of the run. Improved in the latter parts making it up to the Cat Nick without stopping which I normally don't manage. Shoes felt better this time. Maybe I'll wear them in.

Night O at Bonaly. Bitterly cold evening. Did 2 loops fairly successfully. Just missed one control.

Great gym session at Warrender. 15 min cycle, 5 km in 23 min run and then 15 min cycle. Good way to focus on speed which I don't often do.

Very gentle run round East Craiglockhart shadowing Max on his first light green. He did well.

Mortonhall Ring - pushed hard all the way and got round in second best time ever. Best time was a year and a half ago and a full minute faster - not quite sure how I did that ! Very pleased anyway as I was pretty tired and a bit overweight.

shoes: RX Terrain - New Balance
Tinto hill race. Long hard slog up the hill. Didn't feel like a fantastic performance on the way up. Fabulous downhill run as slope and terrain was nicely runnable the whole way. Feet feeling blistered by the end.

Estimated time seem pretty good. Results not yet in.

Fairly gentle run round Holyrood Park. Reasonably good form but not pushing too hard with the Tinto race on Saturday. Tried out the Inov8s again. No problem as such but they are very poor on contouring with the foot sliding badly.

Short sprint intervals. Around 35 s x 10. Gave the Mudclaws another run. Seemed fine on the flat but need a longer test.

spiked:29/29c shoes: Inov-8 Mudroc 290
SOL 7 at Alterstone. Some really big mistakes early on. Dropped around 3 minutes on the second (relativelyt easy) control. Controls 5 and 6 were ridiculously hard and spent a great deal of time searching for them. Finished in a slow time but good practice !

Mortonhall Ring route. Slow time of 1 hr 15. Not pushing especially hard but legs felt pretty rough after 45 mins.
