Holyrood park run taking in 6 peaks. Fabulous. Feeling really groggy - probably suffering from a light cold, poor sleep and too much work and stress. Fairly slow going round but even so the views were lovely as the sun came out.

Running race 1:10:00 [5] 7.0 mi (10:00 / mi) +500m 5:05 / km
ahr:165 max:170 shoes: RX Terrain - New Balance
Carnethy Handicap race. Romano Bridge in torrential rain. Very long and tricky navigational course. Followed Colin Scott who seemed to know what he was doing. Came a very respectable 5th - suspect a few runners must have got lost along the way.

Monday Jul 16

Running intervals 46:00 [4] 5.11 mi (9:00 / mi) +200m 4:59 / km
ahr:165 max:170 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 5
First interval run using the HRM. Seemed to go quite well. Did 5 x 4 mins with 4 mins recovery. Intervals typcially at around 165 bpm and then dropping to around 130 in the rest phases at a very gentle jog.

Not totally wasted at the end. Sweaty but OK.

Sunday Jul 15

Running 1:40:00 [2] 10.26 mi (9:45 / mi) +400m 5:24 / km
ahr:140 max:172 weight:67.4kg shoes: RX Terrain - New Balance
Nice run in the Pentlands. Started at Nile Mile Burn - Scroggy Hill - Monks Rig - Cap Law - Green Law - Spitttal Hill - Paties Hill - to end of ridge at top at 392 m - the right to Fairliehope and along path to North Esk Reservoir - then path back to Nine Mile Burn. A bit tired at the start but kept going nicely with a fair bit left in the legs at the end. Really nice loop.
