Tuesday Oct 30

Running intervals 21:36 [4]5 km (4:19 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 5
Wow - that was rubbish. Really slow intervals. Not sure what the problem was - not feeling great (work tired), ran way behind the pack so not pulled along by other runners, tired after 3 consecutive days out running, eaten too much - not sure which of these if any contributed but lap times average 4 m 16 when I should have been around 4 minutes.

Monday Oct 29

Orienteering 55:00 [3]3.0 mi (18:20 / mi)

ahr:164 max:176 spiked:23/23c shoes: RX Terrain - New Balance
sosol 2 - good run, pleased with the result beating a few good runners and a bit higher up the results table than usual. Bit tired at the end and struggled in the last few forest controls.

Running 1:02:00 [2]6.53 mi (9:29 / mi)
ahr:152 max:166 shoes: Inov-8 Mudroc 290

Wednesday Oct 17

Running 38:00 [4]4.22 mi (9:00 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 5
Tried some short intervals in the meadows - gosh its a boring way to get fit. I'll not do that again.

Tuesday Oct 16

Running 1:02:00 [2]6.89 mi (9:00 / mi) +100m 5:21 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Mojave
Run round Braid road (the other way round). Started ok but legs felt pretty tired after 20 minutes - quite a long climb up to highest point of Braid Road. Blisters doing better.

Monday Oct 15

Running 55:00 [1]4 km (13:45 / km)
shoes: RX Terrain - New Balance
Junior run. Heel suffering a bit still from the various blisters. Just managed round.

Sunday Oct 14

Running 55:00 [3]6.11 mi (9:00 / mi) +100m 5:19 / km
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 5
Gentle run round Holyrood park although couldn't help speeding up to pass a jogger on the last ascent. Did a few short intervals in the latter half of the run.

Saturday Oct 13

Orienteering race 40:00 [3]5.1 km (7:51 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw O 330
Nice run around Bush estate

Saturday Oct 6

Running race 4:05:00 [4]26 km (9:25 / km) +1890m 6:55 / km
shoes: RX Terrain - New Balance
Pentland Skyline race. Really tough. The weather was hot and my feet still suffering a bit from the previous weekends orienteering. First half of the race went fairly well although I suspect I was a bit slower than 2 years ago. Started to really toil in the second half with bad blisters making running at speed very painful. Kept going but only just and finished with a fairly poor time although I suspect there were quite a few slow runs in the hot weather.

Poor quality socks may have been partly to blame for the blister and possibly also a plaster getting loose in the sock.

Thursday Oct 4

Running 45:30 [3]5.06 mi (9:00 / mi)
shoes: RX Terrain - New Balance
easy run through hunters bog along top of the crags - heel still a bit sore but probably should have a go at the skyline

Monday Oct 1

Swim 41:00 [3]
Swim - first in a long time. Not much fun but fairly good form. Hoping my blisters recover for the Skyline.
