| Orienteering race (Oceania Champs) 1:26:25 [4]**** 6.8 km (12:42 / km) +220m 10:56 / km | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline | ||
| A pretty good race down Quanbeyan way. It wasnt very physical although i didnt take it that hard. I am pretty happy with my navigation in terms of staying "in the map" i made mistakes, but i was quickly realising it and relocating. It makes things so much more enjoyable.
Couple of times i didnt run in the direction i planned to, either because of sloppines, vegetation or distraction.

| Event: Oceania Champs Carnival | ||
Wednesday Sep 26 | ||
| Running hills (Stingers Training) 38:24 [5] | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7 | ||
| On Observatory Hill with Ezy, Prong and NSW Stinger.
Did 6 full reps, at about 5 minutes each up and back down. After that, 8 mins or so of warm down. My calves might explode any minute. We are almost certain that the houses on the right, after the big set of stairs, is a crackhouse. Prong was impressive.
| C • prong not the only impressive one 2 | ||
Monday Sep 24 | ||
| Running tempo (LFRC) 41:10 [4] | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7 | ||
| Semi periodic run with Ezy, beat my pb. Whenever i run, i try to push uphill and then recover from the top, this time i was pushing after the uphill trying to figure out how fast can i whilst catching my breath, i think my body is learning how to run.
Awesome potato pie and salad for dinner.
Saturday Sep 22 | ||
| Cycling (road cycling on mtb) 1:30:00 [3]30 km (3:00 / km) | ||
| unexpected road ride with housemate. had to pick his car in brookvale so we went around Forerst Way rd, Mona Vale Rd down to the beach and along the beach through Narrabeen Long Reef, Dee Why and brookvale. Rain dumped on us at the bottom it was soo cold.
One of my pedals keeps coming off, and its because the square pedal arm socket is all deformed.
| Running (Wakehurst Pkway loop) 49:47 [3]8.2 km (6:04 / km) | ||
| Went all the way to Seaforth Oval, beating my PB. Downhill there it took me 23:45. Felt ok but obviously a bit heavy going uphill. Bummed about my crankset since i was going to bike more to boost my training hours. Hopefully ill get one soon. | ||
Friday Sep 21 | ||
| Running (Wakehurst Pkway loop) 41:48 [2] | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7 | ||
| to the car engine and back. I felt like crap in the morning so it was quite slow. Slight soreness on left ITB led to an extra long stretching session. | ||
Wednesday Sep 19 | ||
| Running intervals (Stingers Training) 37:50 [4] | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7 | ||
| Intervals down in lindfield with NSW Stinger, Prong, Ezy and Kathrin. On a moderate intensity, medium length hill, did 6 reps and it was tough, but i feel ok. Hopefully i can put some more time this week.

| Note | ||
| (sick) (rest day) | ||
| Went to the travel doctor in preparation for my expedition to the subcontinent, and on the spot got my first shot of japanese encephalytis and hep B so no running today. I don't feel that great anyway. | ||
Sunday Sep 16 | ||
| Orienteering race (Metro League) 1:02:41 [5]6.4 km (9:48 / km) +200m 8:28 / km | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6 | ||
| 5km course around Lake Parramatta, for the Metro league final. I was offered the chance to run division 1, which was great. I went out without a compass but i soon noticed it was not necessary to have one. A bit hungover at the beginning so it took me a while to get going. After control 6 I picked up my navigation and was very pleased from then onwards.
I got bogged up to my waist in mud, since between 9 and 10 had to go around a little water entrance, and as i saw ppl on the other side i thought they had walked across. I went in with so much confidence i ended up buried and smelly.
Saturday Sep 15 | ||
| Event: 70's Disco | ||
| Running long (Oxford Falls tracks) 1:12:00 [4] | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7 | ||
| Long run before 70's disco, with LazyDave, Jules, BJ, NSWStinger, Prong and Mace. Mace was kind enough to stay behind with me and we managed to have a cruisey run. Felt ok the whole way, i had a gel instead of lunch, which might have helped.
I estimate the distance to be quite short because there was a fair bit of climb and about 10 minutes we were fighting sydney scrub uphill, which is crap. Also very crap is my outfit for tonight, not at all disco.
Wednesday Sep 12 | ||
| Orienteering intervals (Stingers Training) 55:00 [3] | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6 | ||
| 5 Courses set by Andy, with Prong, NSWStinger and Ezy around the Artarmon Creek map. A good mix of bush trails and streets on a slightly chilly night. I am still tired from the weekend and the back was sore during the day. It felt ok running but now lying in bed its slightly uncomfortable.
I also got totally lost in the last leg of one of the intervals, around St Leonards because i carelessly exited one control in a square grid of streets!.
| Running warm up/down (Stingers Training) 10:00 [2] | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6 | ||
| from andy's to start and from finish back to andy's | ||
Sunday Sep 9 | ||
| Orienteering (State League Event) 1:50:48 [3]**** 8.44 km (13:08 / km) +225m 11:35 / km | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7 | ||
| At Belangalo State forest. Very long course but overall flatter and easier to navigate than yesterday. Pretty content with my navigation as i was more focused on route choice. lessons learned: running options are better most of the times, avoiding the green pays off and attack points are key.
Not as tired and sore as i though.

Saturday Sep 8 | ||
| Orienteering (State League Event) 1:22:00 [3]**** 5.4 km (15:11 / km) +200m 12:49 / km | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline | ||
| Spur gully with rocks on a chilly day. Started careful and making good orienteering decisions, but my lack of training made the running a bit hard, it was also very steep. After 30 minutes into it (halfway) i lost my marbles and i didn't care anymore which stung me immediately. Second half of course really shit which is to be expected. | ||
Friday Sep 7 | ||
| Running (Fel's short loop) 33:41 [3] | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7 | ||
| Fel's short O'connor ridge loop. Felt quite good all the way, if anything a bit slow and sore from work. Fel picked up the pace at the end and blamed me. Interestingly enough, my body felt quite comfortable at a high pace, and it was the heart and lungs that begged for the break. | ||
| Gym (Jade) 20:00 [3] | ||
| Pilates DVD with Fel. I felt all sorts of things in my g-spot or whatever is called. | ||
Sunday Sep 2 | ||
| Orienteering race (Local Event) 1:20:00 [3]4.4 km (18:11 / km) | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline | ||
| i dnf cause i CBF. It was a very steep course and i lost my punch card right after control 1. I wasnt running a clean race anyway. | ||
