Wednesday Apr 30

Running 35:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7
Morning jog to see how the knee felt. Coach was right, it was a bit sore at the beggining but when it warmed up it was fine. A thorough stretch at the end was exactly what i needed. (oh, down to UTS oval, around to pac hwy and then coles for breakfast milk)

Monday Apr 28

Note
(injured) (rest day)
Sore all over after the races. ITB on left knee pulliing most of the day. My coach prescribed lots of stretching.

Sunday Apr 27

Orienteering race (ACT Long Champs) 1:14:55 [3]*** 5.6 km (13:23 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
Probably the most technical run i've ever had. The biggest effort wasnt the hills but to stay concentrated and focused. Made a mistake into 2 catching the wrong gully and to 8 when a W21A pack passed me and i was tempted to follow them, loosing concentration.

Saturday Apr 26

Orienteering race (ACT Middle distance) 43:55 [4]*** 3 km (14:38 / km) +75m 13:01 / km
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
Ran the Orange course and went out with a "i should have a blinder, i mean, its just an orange" attitude only to blow the 1st control! (and many more later). Also quite tired and felt heavy and crap. Pretty crap really.

Friday Apr 25

Orienteering race (ACT 2008 Sprint) 32:19 [3]*** 3.1 km (10:25 / km) +65m 9:26 / km
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
Very happy with my race this time. mostly becasue i could will myself to accept i was wrong when i was finding controls. Made a mistake at 1 and 11 which would have costed me about 3 mins in total, making me just miss bronze. Better luck next time.

Monday Apr 21

Running 30:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7
went for a short jog down lindfield oval and went into this little track. I didnt want to go all the way down Lane Cove so i started heading north, sort of along the granite line. Then i was bush bashing, and then around the back of an old lady's house. "You poor thing" she said, "im sure you didnt rob the house", i kept saying sorry sorry sorry, very culturaly conscious of me.

Saturday Apr 19

Running long 1:10:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
From home to the start of the NOSH trail for a couple of k's with Phoebe. There is a section of about 150 to 200m that is barricaded and permanently closed due to rock falls and erosion. It will be interesting to see the effect on the race, as it is in the first 5k and quite a narrow detour.

Friday Apr 18

Running intervals 12:00 [3]2 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
Out of the blue Phoebe decided to do 100 m spirinting and 100 m recovery around UTS oval. I reckon this is key to building my fitness base.
Running warm up/down 23:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
To and From UTS oval with Coach Phe.

Tuesday Apr 15

Running 30:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
estimate time, as I dont have a watch anymore. From my place to UTS oval, half a loop and then straight up to the pacific hwy and to...
Gym (Core Strength) 25:00 [3]
with Ezy and Seb, a DVD of Kostya Tszyu was playing. We had a group hug at the end

Sunday Apr 13

Orienteering race (SL4 Abernethy) 1:53:08 [3]6 km (18:51 / km) +235m 15:46 / km
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline
slower and crappier than yesterday, my run that is. The course was more challenging and definitely steeper. I will be sore for a while

Saturday Apr 12

Orienteering race (SL3 Abernethy) 1:13:45 [4]*** 4.4 km (16:46 / km)
spiked:3/14c weight:103kg shoes: Brooks Adrenaline
Had a Shocker on a very well set course by Julian Dent. The area has a lot of little gullies and embankments which made it very easy to get lost. I was relying too much on my compass until control 8, when i decided to put it in my pocket. From then on it went much better.
Running (picking controls) 15:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline
doubles up as warm up/down and contorl picking.

Thursday Apr 10

Running 31:52 [3]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
short jog around lindfield UTS oval and back with Glenn and Phoebe. We spend the run talking about all the great training areas and opportunities and how now one else would come anyway.

Wednesday Apr 9

Running race (Autumn Series) 44:08 [4]*
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
First ever autumn series ever, felt ok but i was making shcrap decisions. Mostly i was arriving to the controls sooner than expected so i kept on chaning my mind. Still I tied with Phoebe, which is a first for a score event for me!

Wednesday Apr 2

Running (Kincumber Mountain Short) 34:49 [3]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7
slow slow
