Wednesday Aug 30

Gym (Training away from home) 50:00 [3]
Checking out Mount Gambier gym facilities, i find really hard to motivate myself to run round here, so easy pedalling whilst watching ACA is the way to go.

Sunday Aug 20

Orienteering race (Aus NOL races) 1:43:37 [4]*** 8 km (12:57 / km) +220m 11:23 / km
14c
Much better day, although i had a running start again (almost late) i was confident and finding my way fine but i just couldnt keep running after an hour. I think i hydrated and eat propperly but my mental strength is still low (and it will be for a while) and it was bloody hot. After it was all over we headed to posh Noosa for a swim which was a dream, except for the "developement"
Running tempo (AUS NOL Races) 6:50 [5]1.2 km (5:42 / km)
same distance from car park to assy area, but this time i made it on time for the 2min warning before the start. All sorts of inminent matters to be resolved that now will have to wait till the end of the race...

Saturday Aug 19

Event: AUS NOL Races

Orienteering race (NOL Queensland) 2:10:00 [4]*** 7.4 km (17:34 / km) +190m 15:34 / km
12c
Very hot very dry first day of the NOL in Queensland, i had a late start which doesnt really help. I struggled with 1:15000 scale which i think i hardly ever used, so misjudged distances and gullys on an already vague and fast terrain. It wasnt so bad in some splits but a 45min mistake pretty much made my day.
Running warm up/down (Aus NOL races) 10:00 [3]1.6 km (6:15 / km)
running late to the start, 800m from the parking lot to the assy area and then another 800 more to the start, when i got there, the controllers said "oh well thats no problem, you can start straight away in 2 minutes" sigh!

Friday Aug 18

Note
(rest day)
Frustrating day this morning, as usual i was prepairing two "mugs of chino" when right after frothing the milk and started pouring i catch a wiff of an unsetteling stench, it was the milk, it was off.
I have a quick smell of the coffees, and ugh, fettachino!. The cause, there was an almost empty bottle in the fridge and a brand new one, and i usually use the old milk with the new one, but this particular one was off, quite off. Anyhow, Campos saved us this morning, quite funky cafe with frantic xilophone jazz and dilated pupil baristas.

Wednesday Aug 16

Running warm up/down (Stingers Training) 15:00 [2]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline
From Andy's house to first start triangle and back from last circle.
Orienteering tempo (Stingers Training) 50:00 [4]**
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline
3 courses in west chatswood map set by Andy. With Ben, Rob, Prong, Phoebe and Matt Scheiffer. Poor Glenn slipped after 3rd control of 1s course and shattered his mouth (for a tick, i thought i saw a vampire) so had to leave and Matt kindly drove him home. After that we just jogged to the end. Middle course went through private golf course so we crossed it in the tip of our toes. A bit more bushy and nice. Third course, more of the same quite nice although i skipped a fair bit of controls. I am starting to feel much better/stronger, just have to keep the momentum going.

Monday Aug 14

Running warm up/down (Stingers Training) 13:30 [3]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline
Run from the carpark to the first start triangle atop of the map and from the third finish back to the carpark. Three orienteering courses set by Glenn on the Mosman summer series map, with Margo, Ben, Andy, Rob and Prong.
Orienteering tempo (Stingers training) 28:26 [3]*
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline
First course, with Margo, we skipped the second last control and we ran past one of the middles, legs sore from city to surf.
Orienteering tempo (Stingers training) 20:12 [3]*
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline
Second course from the Little beack with a dock on the map, up some hills and we skipped a loop down the bay in a bushy area, glad we did.
Orienteering tempo (Stingers training) 21:46 [3]*
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline
Final course, again we skipped a bush section, but more ppl did apparently. A very interesting feature was a little track barely visible from a distinctive track along the bay. We ran past it heading north, but a little rock face marked on the map gave it up, put the lamp a bit brighter and found it, yay, better than some elites hey?

Gym tempo (Checking it out) 1:00:01 [2]
Newtown Gym is like 3 minutes walk in the middle of the shops, lots of machines and heaps of classes, big telly in front of the trendmill and it took us about a year and a half to go and check it out!!. We are still on the 7 day trial, but we checked the scalating machine, the bikes, checking ourselves in the mirror...etc.

Saturday Aug 5

Running tempo 29:33 [3]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline
short run.

Thursday Aug 3

Running hills (Stingers Training) 55:39 [4]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline
Luna park hill, first time i did it, basically we did 12 minutes or so of warm up jog from luna park to mcmahons point and back and then run up that b#tch of a slope under the bridge. Felt like my heart was coming out of my mouth, and my head was about to explode, all my mental strength to push beyond my hypothalamic urges is drained at work.

dont get me wrong, i feel so much better now, there is no excuse not to train.
