Saturday May 31

Cycling 1:30:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7
Went to investigate the crossing of Roseville bridge by bike in case i start commuting from Lane Cove. Went up mowbray road, north into Archer St and East at Boundary Rd, which becomes Warringa Rd. Going North, there is no choice but to glide down on the left lane. Then went down to the boat ramps because it was nice and waded around the tracks and saw a Wallabie! (1.3mt high male). Came back up and crossed south on the same footpath. There is a little lane that takes you under the bridge and into whatever posh neighbourhood is on the east side of Warringa Rd. Heaps safer going up the hill than all those buses and psycho drivers. Came back home along Parkhurst Rd, which is suboptimal to Archer st but avoids boundary rd going west.

Canyoning 2:00:00 [3]
Did the Starlight Canyon and i was walking and climbing and abseiling and puffing for a long long time. I deserve some AP credit for it.

Cycling (Commuting) 39:00 [3]14.5 km (2:41 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7
A hint of a cold is coming so this ride will either make it or break it. Left the bike at work overnight so I the extra energy I had from that cancelled off the cold effects.

A fellow cyclist told me that i was pedalling with the knees wobbling outwards, whereas they should go up and down in line with the pedal stroke. Judging for the extra power i get in my pedal and no pain in my bike, i consider it this week's top tip!.

Thursday May 22

Cycling (Commuting) 51:00 [3]15 km (3:24 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7
A new PB!.All the right conditions: Bike prepped last night, carbo loaded 2 nights in a row, rest day the day before, sunny crisp air and a good night sleep. I felt ok the whole way albeit a bit tight at the top of the left glute. I suspect a mm misalignment in my bike posture, we'll see.

Tuesday May 20

Cycling (Commuting) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7
Boy it was hard this morning, i hardly had anything in me for the hills. It may have something to do with missing my morning coffee.
C • coffee 10
Cycling (Commuting) 44:00 [3]

Pushed steadily on the way back home.

Sunday May 18

Orienteering race (NSW SL7 2008) 1:19:59 [3]****
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
Even colder than yesterday at Ophir's historic goldmining site. I ran without making any big mistakes but physically so tired my brain shut down after 13 and drifted too far east coming out of it. Also a fellow M21AS I caught up with at 7 spared me the torture of finding a control in a very sharp gully.

Saturday May 17

Orienteering race (NSW SL6 2008) 1:05:37 [3]*** 4 km (16:24 / km) +175m 13:28 / km
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
Cold day at Kahli's Rocks, but I felt physically storng the whole way, trying to keep my navigation tidy. Unfortunately i made one of the silliest mistakes ever to 7. took the track option and in the last 300m, I just went off the track on a straight line, fighting through the green, too far up.... ugh, what a mess.

Very fun course with the last few legs in a flatter open area and lots of changes of direction.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]
to the start, kept jogging because it was brrr!

Thursday May 15

Cycling (Commuting) 56:00 [3]15.6 km (3:35 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
Made some clever footpath/road choices that shaved some time of my ride. This is despite the fact that I was a bit tired out of jumping like a monkey on the Soilwork concert last night. As Phoebe put it once, calves about to snap.
Cycling (Commuting) 42:00 [3]14.1 km (2:59 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
I was tired coming out of work and it took an extra effort even though is net downhill.

Tuesday May 13

Cycling (Commute) 1:00:00 [3]14.5 km (4:08 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
Much better ride this time. Knowing I could take an hour i didnt push much up the hill so i can have a normal day at work. Slick tires Ezy gave me do help a fair bit as i was cruising along the whole ride in higher gears than previous time. No "collisions*" either, which is sweet.

Cycling (Commuting) 38:00 [3]14.08 km (2:42 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
Cruisy Ride home, a bit of traffic tonight, but it was all good.

Sunday May 11

Note
Learned how to Abseil today and its hard work on the arms, but i can hardly log that as training. Looking forward to do it in the Blue Mountains in 2 weeks time.

Saturday May 10

Running (Terrigal Trotters) 30:00 [2]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7
Body not really in the mood to run today, soaked up the beach atmosphere instead.

Friday May 9

Cycling (Commute) 1:00:00 [4]16.7 km (3:36 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
First ever commute to work. I tried to avoid the hills but in this area is like trying to avoid mozzies on a hot summer afternoon in Mudgee. Once I was out of StIves footpath and into Mona Vale rd bike path it was fine.

I got a painful reminder of looking after myself as I was on the footpath and approaching a light, and a car turned left in front of me, hit the brakes, bike toppled and landed on my side right next to its back wheel. What an idiot I am.

C • this is all starting to get... 2
Cycling (Commute) 38:00 [2]14 km (2:43 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
much easier ride, beautiful afternoon, mostly downhill, no falls. Good.
C • Great work 1

Thursday May 8

Running 53:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7
went for a run on the same loop as yesterday, cause i arrived home early, only to find a missed call from Glenn to go for a run. Oh well, Philippe Zdar and Boom Bass kept me company.

Wednesday May 7

Cycling 15:00 [1]
Took my bike for a spin after fitting a new crankset on it. It feels ok, but the chain line shifted out a little bit so i should readjust the front derraileur. I suspect though that the spindle is not inserted all the way through. Since i have to take it out to recheck the torque in the bottom bracket, ill see how the chain line pans out after that.

Monday May 5

Running 51:14 [3]
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 6
Run down to Lane Cove national park with Phoebe. What a nice area. I felt ok all the way but I reckon I need a rest day.

Sunday May 4

Orienteering (MetrO League) 37:16 [4]4.2 km (8:52 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7
Ran division D on the first Metro league of the year. Street courses around Rozelle, which were pretty good and quite a beautiful day. I stuffed up 8, which I ran past and since it was on a 3m high rockface, it took a while to go around to find, and 11, which was slightly too concealed.

Saturday May 3

Running long (Terrigal Trotters) 55:00 [3]10 km (5:30 / km)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7
Did the route of the 10km time trial as the full route for the runners appeared to be heaps long. FElt crap, i think i wasnt hydrated enough.

Thursday May 1

Running long (Two Creek loop) 1:00:00 [4]
weight:103.9kg shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7
Two creeks loop from the flat with Seb, Prong, andyhill and NSW Stinger. Although the blokes were a bit sore from tuesday's reps, I only managed to keep pace with Rob and Andy for the first 25 minutes. From then on I was lagging behind. Legs feel good tho.
