2 HR SE + 30 STEADY

Canalside run, the temperature had climbed a few degrees by the time I started at 11am and the sun was out which was nice compared to yesterday so a t-shirt was enough.....rain is due all weekend though.

Not too much to say about this morning, maybe its because I have took it a little easy this week (I think) but it all felt super easy...

the 2 HRS flew by listening to a podcast and then the 30 minute steady felt easy too.

That's it really....

5 HR TRACK RUN

elevation states 914m on the watch but I'm ignoring that ?!

I would describe this as an easy difficult run if that can exist.

It was noticeably cooler today and the guy on reception asked if I had spikes due to it being a bit wet.......I reassured him that I didn't need them.

There was a load of leaves on half the track though which was a little annoying....anyway I can't really remember anything about the first 2 hours apart from I had one of my nutty date balls on the hour with some water, this didn't change throughout and worked a dream. I did have 250ml of Coke on the four hour mark just to spice things up a little.

The running went pretty smooth..........its not very often I will do a 5 hr negative split but that was cool I guess.

After 3 hours I could feel some niggles and my left Glute felt a little tired but nothing to moan about it really and just need some attention over next few days.

I went through marathon distance in around 3:50 I think so probably a little ahead of schedule but it felt easy.

After 4 hours I could def feel some tiredness in my legs and was getting to the point where niggles turn in to just a general all over ache....I like this kind of running because though especially when I'm not even breathing with any purpose.

The last hour was a bit of a mental battle though.....I think it would happen if I was running for two hours or twenty on the track though. No finish line so time just slows down.

Finished feeling pretty good, legs a little achey in places that wouldn't usually on the trails so that was good to recognise.

A 30 minute dog walk afterwards and legs are fine just feel tired.
