walking (long walk) 2:00:00 [3] 5.0 mi (24:00 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 X Talon 200

Work sessions cancelled and no way out for the car, more snow predicted over night so just a long dog walk with friends today.

Also felt like I had a bit of a virus coming so didn't risk running.

trail running (long run) 1:30:00 [3] 9.3 mi (9:41 / mi) +457m 8:24 / mi
shoes: Inov8 X Talon 200

80' Moderate.

Woke up to a few inches of snow and it was still coming down in blustery showers...

Road running out the question and couldn't get the car out so I ran from mine on to some hilly trail.

It was knee deep in places where it had drifted which made it a good tough run out. Lots of fun until the wind brought more hard snow, the kind of stuff that makes you run with your eyes closed......kind of.

Not great for marathon training I guess but what can you do.

Canal Path 1:01:00 [4] 8.4 mi (7:16 / mi) +100m 7:00 / mi
shoes: Adidas Boston

15' Easy + 5 x 1 mile in 5'45'' (3' Easy) + 15' Easy

*Didn't do second 15' Easy just too short of time...

Went to the canal path feeling good and it was back to shorts and T shirt weather before the freeze comes at the weekend apparently.

The pace seemed to jump around on my watch even though I was pretty constant but managed to hold the pace even though it was very tough in all honesty.....definitely feel like i'm training for a Marathon now.....

More so the checking watch for distance / clock watching a little and being on my own make it tough but I don't mind that.

I would not have attempted 5 x 1 at that pace just a few weeks back so felt good to put them away...

I did have to walk a few steps after rep 4 but got going again sharpish and the recovery was very easy.
